These are beautifully made in Wisconsin, form fit to the sole of your feet and can be worn all day comfortably. They are Goodyear welted, which also means they can be resoled forever in the unlikely event you wear about the durable Dainite sole. Classic style in a quality package. Highly recommended. Size wise, I'd take your standard Brannock device size and go down 1/2 size. For example, if your Brannock size is 12D, order an 11.5D unless you like really thick socks.
I own several pair of Allen Edmonds, but this is my second pair of boots. The Dainite sole is very comfortable and supportive, and gives decent traction on most surfaces (only slippery for me on wet leaves so far). The Chromexcel leather is a little difficult to break in, but is very tough and has a great depth and feel to it. Some may say to size down half a size for boots, but I ordered my usual size and they fit quite well. These are quickly becoming my favorite pair of boots.
The craftsmanship on these boots is outstanding. They're gorgeous. My only gripe is that I don't wear boots that cover my ankle much and these aggravated my tendon a bit.
Always have only bought Allen Edmond dress shoes as they fit perfectly! I have tried various other high-end brands but have never found anything that provides the same comfort and fit without any break-in. These boots did not disappoint either.
I wish I could leave 0 stars. Must be a joke. I’m not laughing though. I bought the Allen Edmonds Higgins Mill boots for an upcoming trip and the abomination seen pictured is what showed up. I would not pay $1, let alone several hundred for this plastic, made in China, horrendous excuse for footwear. They have no insole whatsoever, and they are the wrong size!!!! I am severely irritated by this.
Absolutely beautiful boot that always garners compliments. Required zero break in time. I would say the length of the boot runs a tad small. I’m 10.5 in boots (minus red wing IR - 10) and dress shoes, but I wonder if maybe the 11 would have been better, most likely not. Having said that I can only wear thinner socks with them. The one MAJOR flaw is that the tongue is NOT gusseted. After just a few steps of walking it slides to the outside and creates some discomfort. Not pain but it gives me the sudden urge a few times a day to untie them and shift the tongue. Imo this is an unacceptable oversight for an almost $500 boot.
Súper comfortable and stylish. A great addition to my collection!!!
