Both my wife and I wear Ariat because they fit true to size and they wear reasonably well. We both use their riding boots and I use the work boots. Are they the best on the market? Honestly no, Red Wings are my favorite. But dollar for dollar these are an excellent value. The quality is high for the money spent. I love 'em. Also, every pair of Ariats we have bought we could wear right out of the box without a breakin period. I can't say that about most boots(other then Red Wings).
My husband works all day on his feet mostly on concrete. He says these fit well, likes the ankle support (he has a similar Ariat pair that are slip on and are very comfortable) cushioning is good. He did have to get an insole, but he has had surgery on both knees and this causes problems with his gait and posture. Overall, though these are a very good choice if you're on your feet, on concrete all day!
I ordered these for my husband to wear to work in. I didn't realize when ordering that they are electrical compliant (prevent shocks). This is a great feature since my husband does low voltage for a living. He previously had a pair of Ariat boots that I matched the size on and they fit perfectly. He says they are the most comfortable boots he has ever had! I would suggest replacing the laces with better ones but overall, these boots can't be beat.
First off, I didn't realize this did not have a steel toe or a composite toe. That is my fault for not looking so I cant take any stars for that. Just beware. These are nice looking boots and are fairly comfortable. However, the nose is pretty pointed, almost like a cowboy boot. Which is not what the advertised picture suggested. Also, they are extremely thin. I wear a size 14 and wish that a 14 wide was available when I orderes them. My feet do fit them and surprisingly don't feel terrible, but there's no room whatsoever for adjustment.
I've had a couple pairs of these Ariat 8" lace-ups. I think my last pair was a slightly different model but not by much. They are the most comfortable shoe I've ever owned. Not just boots mind you, but any shoe. I have somewhat narrow feet with somewhat flat arches, but these boots feel fantastic. I wear them almost everyday and my last pair probably lasted almost 3 years before the soles final gave out.
Comfortable right out of the box. Soles are great for machine shop environment.
I have been a mechanic for 30 plus years and have always tried to get a high quality work boot as I am on my feet a minimum of 12 hours a day. The good about these boots: appearance is good and they fit pretty well. That is where it ends. After nearly 3 weeks of continuous wear they still have areas that haven't broken in. To the point of bruising in spots. The worst however is the complete lack of support! They have some of the cheapest insoles in them that I have ever seen. My feet have never felt worse than when I am wearing them. You would get better support if you strapped some 2x4s for the soles of your feet. I finally gave up on them this morning and put my old Redwings back on. I gave them 1 star rating simply on appearance and fit. otherwise it would be a zero.
I just bought a pair of these to replace my old pair, which were the same model. I used the originals for 8 or 9 years of weekend ranch work, plus a couple summers of construction work mixed in there as well. I was very satisfied with the comfort of the boot once they worn in, and they obviously lasted about as long as can be expected. You can find cheaper boots out there, but these are worth every penny to me!
