Good boots, with a good, robust sole that is grippy and doesn’t slip. I like the look, and I like the feel. There’s plenty of room for my toes, which is nice. They’re not waterproof, but they have kept my feet dry so far as I’ve tromped around in Utah puddles and snow. They’re not winter boots, but they keep my feet reasonably warm for my use, coupled with wool socks.I applied mink oil and it keeps the leather from getting water logged as much, and I like the darker look that it gives them.
Due to the fact that I have serious Neuropathy in both feet, and my left foot is larger than my right foot, I'm always hesitant to purchase shoes or boots--any shoes or boots. And, I'm even more hesitant to purchase work boots without having the opportunity to first try them. So, it was with great trepidation that I purchased this pair of Caterpillar Work Boots. Nevertheless, I just sort of "let it rip."Once the Caterpillar Work Boots arrived, I tried them on, and wore them inside my house. Obviously, I figured if the fit was less-than-acceptable, or they hurt my feet, I'd simply box them up and return them to Amazon.Amazingly, not only did they NOT hurt my feet, they fit spectacularly well; and they were even comfortable. Now, I've purchased far-too-many pairs of work boots throughout my life to even attempt to keep count, and NEVER have I ever had a pair of work boots fit as well as the Caterpillar Work Boots. They are simply amazing--I have no other way to describe them.Since receiving these Caterpillar Work Boots back in February 2020, I've worn them a number of times; and when I've worn them, I've had them on for an extended period of hours. I'm serious when I say these Caterpillar Work Boots are even more comfortable than any of my New Balance athletic shoes. Due to my severe Neuropathy, my Podiatrist suggested that I wear New Balance athletic shoes. New Balance athletic shoes are supposed to be "the poor man's answer to severe Neuropathy." And, I do agree that they ARE for "poor men"; I wear New Balance athletic shoes because my Podiatrist wanted to sell me a pair of custom-maid Diabetic shoes at the very pricey sum of $1,050.00 (one thousand fifty dollars, and zero cents). Since my health insurance plan will not cover the custom made Diabetic shoes, and custom-made insoles (i.e.; inserts), also at the extremely pricey sum of $450.00 (four hundred fifty dollars, and zero cents), I'm on-my-own for modalities.Well, heck, wearing the Caterpillar Work Boots is so comfortable I just might make them my "everyday shoes." After all I'm a resident of deep-south southwestern North Carolina, way up in the Blue Ridge Mountains, so around these here-parts, the Caterpillar Work Boots just might be considered "very down-home; and very, very stylish." Y'all never know! But, I'd definitely recommend these Caterpillar Work Boots: they're very comfortable; exceptionally durable (they haven't even begun to show the slightest bit of wear); they have a great safety track record; and they're quite affordable. And, if you doubt me about the "affordable" part of my review, just check the prices on some of the competitor's work boots. You'll be shocked! The Caterpillar Work Boots are definitely deserving of Five Stars!
Got these for my husband for work, he normally wears 12 wide work boots because he likes to wear thick socks with them. This boot was about too big for him and we had to return. The boot seemed to be well-made, and ankle support was great just make sure you size down. We are currently waiting for the right size to come in.Will update
I do casual yard work year round 3-5 days a week on average: Time of year and such. In my experience they are good quality boots. These are boots not repurposed running shoes. These are clunky old style boots that have worked for me going on maybe 7-10+ years. I bought a new pair recently. And let me add if they work for your feet they are more sturdy/ supportive and less expensive than cheap running shoes: I tried and I went through (not a scientific study) a pair of cheap shoes in about 8 months.I wear them and have worn them for many years. They work for me. I really doubt they need my review.
They are a little heavily than a tennis shoe, but comfortable. They also make you taller than a tennis shoe and provide the safety of knowing that if something drops on your feet, that you won’t be injured.
Was looking for a work boot for my son-in-law, after I saw the shape of his boots I wanted to get him an extra gift for Christmas would’ve liked to have got him the black ones could not believe though that the black ones cost so much more than the brown for the same product that is disappointing but I bought the brown which were made well
Solid so far. No manufacturing defects. Had no problems stretching them, but I followed another review recommendation of requesting them wide and using thick (work) socks. They are comfortable, but I don't stand more than 8 hours, or walk for long period of time on them. If that's your case, maybe a inner sole replacement may be needed.
Usually durable, but did not use them till end of '23 because replacement for one of the two i had were not quite wore out, 3rd pair, but top on one boot just started to unravel. Years of use first and disabled senior not like overly strong and damaged them myself. Just stitching seem lacking or whatever they use these days.
