Very comfortable and surprisingly durable without hardly any wear over extended summer use on a variety of surfaces and uses. And I have sensitive feet that have required surgery for a number of issues. The heel strap is a plus when adjusting between bare feet and socks. I will buy these again. However, be forewarned that you’ll need to drop down a size from what is advertised. I typically wear 12-12.5 but based on all the reviews I ordered an 11 with some trepidation. The clogs fit perfectly with adequate space in the toe box. These clogs seem to be losing stars due to the sizing issue, but I gave them 5 stars because they truly are terrific clogs if you succeed in getting the right size for you.
After meeting a river ranger wearing these I thought I would try them. I was apprehensive because I tough I would be emptying out pebbles and gravel all day, and Chacos sandals don't fit my feet well. I have taken them on several rafting trips so far, and I love them. Occasional rocks in the foot bed but not bad, on cold days a neoprene sock or wader bootie fits comfortably inside, dry quicker then a river shoe, good traction in the water and on land, so stable and comfortable that I started walking my dog in them.
My son had been wearing Crocs for years, due to severe problems with ingrown toenails. I wanted to find something with arch support and the same concept as Crocs. These were perfect! He was like a little kid! He wore them home from our family get-together and had his Crocs in the new shoe box
I tried these on and put them right back in the box. Hard as cardboard. For me Crocs are more comfortable. Looked cheap also.
the build on these is good (chaco product good), and they are comfortable enough, but whoever designed these never wore them in water or over sand and stones. there is no drainage from the toe area, so water and stones and sand will get stuck under your feet, or drain up/down your legs/pants.i wore these on a weeklong bwca canoe trip, and was so frustrated with these!going back to my crocs.
I wanted these for the toe protection while on rocky trails down to the beach. That part is great as the uppers are heavy duty and protect well. However, after about 3 months of use the straps pulled out of the sole in all 4 locations. I have glued them back into place but they should be stitched into place from the factory. Instead they are glued with a substandard adhesive.
Better than crocs especially if you like the back strap. They fit true to size and I get compliments all the time despite not buying them for the look.I mainly bought them because I work at an animal shelter and vet hospital and the shoes are easy to clean.
Huge Chacos fan -- I've been wearing Z-1 sandals for years, and still have a couple old "Ped-shed" shoes in my closet, going strong. I love the Chaco footbed, and the sole and fit/arch are firmer than Crocs. The clog style are similar to my funky Birkenstocks. In fact, I bought these to wear in rainy weather, instead of leather shoes. But unlike the leather Birks, the rubber uppers of this toebox rubbed a blister on the "knuckle" of my pinky toe. Unlike leather, I'm not sure if I can stretch the rubber to alleviate this pressure spot. So, it's good for a lot of reasons, but not perfect.
