I'm gonna go with 5 stars because of the "overall" experience I've had with these. If you are like me then you have wide Donald Duck feet and need a wide boot or shoe. For boots around the $200 range there are very little options if you want a black boot. AdTec used to sell a great logger boot with a steal toe and in a wide. I ran that boot for years until I could not longer find it in all black.I came over to Chippewa years ago and have to say this is by far the easiest boot I have ever worn to break in. It takes less than a day and before you know it the boot feels great and your feet don't hurt. Having a wide foot I expect most boots to hurt for day or even weeks before feeling comfortable, but not with these.PROS:Great looking boot that is actually WIDE for those that need it.Break in period is very short and the boots become comfortable quickly. They look great and have a nice heel.CONS:The laces suck. I have owned enough of the boots over the years to know I will end up replacing the laces within 6 months. Even the cheap Walmart laces last longer as do many you can find on Amazon. These boots may not last as long as others depending on how much you work. I usually get up to 2 years on them before I am buying another. Sometimes I get 1.5 years, but I am in them all the time.FINAL THOUGHTS:I wish Chippewa would recognize the fact that their laces suck. One shouldn't have to put new laces on the boot within 6 months. Not when you pay around $200 for it. As you can see in the pic I provided, I am about to retire my 3rd pair of these boots for new ones in the box. I will keep buying these until I can no longer find them.
Nice looking tactical boot for work. Sharp looking, snug fitting, and a sturdy boot.
Work in the renewable energy field and need a tough pair of boots. Hard break in but once they are broken in they are great .
This is my 3rd pair of these boots. I love them. The raised heal takes a little while to get used to and feels like you’re on high heels at first, but it really helps your back and you’re able to stay on your feet much longer without fatigue. You don’t notice it after a couple days. I wear my boots every day and beat the hell out of ‘em. They are water proof and that is tested daily with my job. Made very well and I usually get a year and a half to two years out of them and that’s with constant heavy use. Also, the rubber around the toe does not peel or rub away like some other boots. I will continue to buy these boots over and over again because of the durability, quality and comfort.
This style Chippewa boot has an extra layer of protection tip of boot over toe area. This on all boots get worn! This extra layer is awesome! The only thing is they have the worst laces. Great strong boots but the laces are not good. Otherwise, excellent! Best Chippewa boots for this style for sure!
I’m a steel worker, and these boots go through hell and last about a year and a half for me. I have been buying them for years. The only ones I wear!!
Very narrow for a EEE boot.
I'm in construction so I'm out in the winter weather most all season long and only use this boot in the winter. It's a heavy boot (weight) so it's not a perfect boot going up and down ladders or walking a lot. It's mid weight insulated so it's good if your moving a lot but not great if your working in one spot for a long time. A composite shank would transfer less cold that the current steel one used. The build quality is okay but I really wanted a boot made in the USA as this one is made in China but I knew that going into the purchase. Overall, it's an okay boot with decent build quality and a decent amount of insulation
