Dr. Scholl's Shoes Women's Original Platform Sandal,Camelot,7 M US

Just like the ones when I was a teenager.

It doesn't have the large toe grip (bump) like it did in the 70s which was comfortable for me, because I got used to it, but it's still a comfortable sandal. I find myself trying to grip with my toes, but I can get used to these, they're still very comfortable and I love wooden shoes. The only unusual thing about these is that I cannot open the slide buckle. I don't need to now, but when they get older and looser, I'd want to be able to tighten the strap. Maybe it's because they're new, so after they're broken in, I can keep trying to open the buckle. The color and fit are just as pictured and true to size, I'd get them in more colors if I could.

I didn’t like the closer lock, comes undone when walking. No little hump for toes to grab to keep shoes on. I had many pairs in the past, and these do not measure up.

These are very close to the original Dr. Scholl's sandals which I wore back in the early 80's. They are made of real wood and real leather. The very bottom sole is vinyl/rubbery material. The leather uppers appear to be screwed into the wood. The clasps lift up (instead of sliding) to adjust width. The smooth wood finish where the bottom of the foot touches has shape to it, but it is less than my original sandals had. I agree with another person's review that the "ridge" under the toe area is much less pronounced. The entire sculpting on the wood surface seems different to me, but is not altogether disagreeable. To people who are unfamiliar with this shoe, take note that the wooden sole does not bend or flex. This is not necessarily a problem, but it makes for a sound of "thunk, slap" as the shoe hits the floor, then lifts up to meet your foot. I, myself, am very happy to be hearing that sound once again. :) I wore my originals for about two decades. I don't ever remember getting rid of them. The rubber/vinyl sole wore off the heel, the wood chipped and cracked slightly, the leather stretched, but I still wore them. I keep expecting to find my old ones stored away somewhere, waiting for more use, but after years of not finding them, I finally decided to try to find a replacement. These new shoes satisfy my longing.

I'm with others who've noted that the grip part that used to be there in the toe part of the shoe is missing and so the shoe is not as comfortable as it used to be. Why it was changed is a complete mystery to me but it was a huge mistake. The shoe runs true to size I wear the same size 7 that I wore in 1974 when I got my first pair of the actual originals. They still look the same and feel good, but not as good. They are not the Originals as they are described as being, but if you loved them back then they are still fun to have. The colors are nice and the shoe is very well made. I glad I bought them.

I purchased these original Dr. Scholl's sandal in my usual size 6. They were comfortable but I felt I would be more comfortable in a 6.5, so I returned the 6 only to find they are only sold in whole sizes. I decided to buy the size 7 which was the wrong decision-they felt too loose. Thinking back I should have known the size 6 would stretch a little with some wear, but, after returning the second pair I tried to buy another 6. Unfortunately they were all sold out! I was devastated, I loved these shoes when I was younger and I really wanted them again. I keep looking on every website, but to no avail. I do not think there is a white pair (size 6) to be found. I had them in my hand and then I let them go-no one to blame but myself!!!!!

I was so excited to find these again! They are always smart looking, no matter what they're worn with. However, the toe ridge is no longer a toe ridge, rather a slight indentation where each half of the ball of the foot would go. I think the arch is lower than before as well. I wish they used the same shape as long ago. I think the leather is a little thinner, but they are pretty and cool. For what they are, they should still be ten dollars in the drug store. It was so exciting to see them evey May, grab a couple of pairs and officially begin summer. But, to the door delivery isn't bad either.

**REVISION** 7/30/21I LOVED my new Dr. Scholls. Now I am stuck with $90 shoes I cannot wear because the pin that holds the strap in place for the clip to snap onto broke. Only worn a handful of times and now they are trash. I'm so pissed because these shoes USED to be made well, but not anymore. The hardware is very flimsy and of poor quality to break under minimal use.If you buy, be prepared to only wear sparingly as you may end up in the same situation.Loving my new Dr. Scholls. I'm a child of the '70s and always loved the Dr. Scholls sandals my aunt always wore. These are almost exactly like the ones my aunt had back in the day with the only exception being the toe grip that Dr. Scholls used to have is not present now, apart from that they are comfortable and easy to wear.
