Little stiff at first especially around the bottom of the calf and ankle area, only took a day of work to somewhat break them in and now fit like a glove and are comfortable. Very great boot especially if you don’t want a taller heel logger boot.
I was skeptical at first. I bought these to work in, doing commercial a/c. I’ve been buying 8” thorogoods for years and was tired of shelling out 300 bucks every 9-12 months. Sure they can be resoled but by then the leather is worn through the toe and counter + various gashes from the jobsite hazards. The leather on these is thicker and more oil saturated than my TG boots. My biggest concern was them smelling funky after taking them off after work. However even with the waterproof lining they haven’t smelled at all. Other boots with synthetics liners always smelled horrid after a month or so. I will be purchasing again once these are worn out. Which won’t be for a while cause the soles on these are a lot more wear resistant than the wedge sole on my TG boots. The break in process was average, the forefoot broke in easily due to the lace to toe design. The hardest part to break in was the shaft of the boot which was quite wide compared to the foot portion but it thickness is due to padding and the waterproof liner which is sewn to the top.
For the money, these are great boots. I bought these to replace my 20 year old Danner boots. I really wanted to go with Danner's again, but after seeing these I just couldn't justify spending twice as much for them, especially since the Danner's in question were also imported.Right out of the box the leather is supple and the boots felt good on my feet. The toe box has plenty of room for my toes but my ankle is held securely. Frankly, the one issue I did have with the Danner's was that my toes felt a bit cramped and would often be sore at the end of a long day.I don't use boots on a regular basis, but when I do, I put them through it. I bought these specifically to wear while cleaning up after hurricane Irma in Florida. I got them early in the week and wore them around for a single day before I took them out for their debut. After spending all day clearing downed trees and debris, the only part of my body that didn't hurt was my feet. These boots kept my feet happy and dry while I was stepping on and over logs, and wading through swamp water that came up over the toe.Time will tell if these will hold up like those Danner boots I just retired, but so far, I'm extremely happy with them.
Best boots if you or hard on boots! I go through boots every 6 months until I started wearing these. The fit was perfect no breaking in they were comfortable on first day.
I have these boots for a week so far and they broken fast. I do line clearance so I'm in my boots for 10 to 16 hours a day. They are comfortable and I am very happy with them so far. Hope they last at least 8 months
I bought these boots for my husband. He typically wears Danner boots, but we haven’t been able to find a style he likes in recent years. I’m glad we found these boots because he loves them. He loved him so much. He had me order two more pair!
Been wearing these boots to work now for about 2 weeks and still havent broken in yet. The tongue is so stiff it gets bunched up in the front were you lace them up and rubs on the front of my shin and it has bruised. its getting better but will probably not be buying these boots again.
I caught these on sale so decided to stock up with 2 more pairs. Georgia boot always punch way above their price point so finding them for 40% off was a no-brainer. There are trade-offs made to get to that lower price but the way I read it they come in the way of somewhat cheaper materials in some places (synthetic welt, house branded outsole, and the kiltie only covers up to the 3rd eyelets so isn't very useful). It's been my experience however that construction methods are pretty bombproof. These are my winter work boots of choice working for a kiln-dried firewood operation (I wear the Georgia 6" wedge through the summer). My current boots are about half way through their second re-sole so they are definitely on borrowed time going into a 4th season. I'll wear these new ones around and about until they break in nicely so I'm not dealing with stiff boots for an entire workday when the time comes.Although I think these are a great value and perfectly serviceable as they come It's become my habit to upgrade these with a veg tan leather insoles and proper leather laces from Nicks Boots and gently oil them once when new. The kiltie probably won't last long either.
