HAFLINGER UNISEX FLETCHER WOOL CLOGS Be a friend to your feet with the Haflinger Fletcher clogs. This functional slipper has a structured, wool felt upper featuring detail stitching and a semi-enclosed heel. A contoured removable footbed molds to your foot for customized comfort, while the crepe sole offers comfort and traction all over the house. Wool felt upper made of all-natural new wool, which, unlike its synthetic counterpart, never itches or scratches and does not leave your feet too hot. Thanks to insulating and breathable capabilities, this wool felt upper wicks away heat and moisture from inside the clog, leaving your feet dry even on the hottest summer days. The Haflinger philosophy is simple and logical—a healthy foot needs the proper environment and a properly designed walking surface to stay healthy. Haflinger clogs and boiled wool slippers pay particular attention to the needs of your foot—space to expand and contract freely and effectively; breathable, all-natural materials; a footbed and spacious toe box that follow the natural form of the foot; and an impact surface that compliments and fortifies human foot design. Founded 50 years ago as a family-owned business, Haflinger is the largest manufacturer of boiled wool in Germany. Run by the grandson of the founder, Haflinger is known in many international markets for not only its boiled wool slippers and wool felt clogs, but more importantly for its outstanding quality and workmanship. In 1991 Gerda Hoehm began importing Haflinger into the U.S. and Canada and the company has since doubled and tripled sales from year to year--our footwear has been extremely well received in North America. Although the recipe for reliable footwear and superior wool has not changed since the early days of Haflinger, the line has evolved its product offering to include a range of styles--children's slippers and clogs, wool-felt cork-bottom clogs, hard- and soft-sole slippers, and our newest sandal and clog line, the Trend Collection. Whether you prefer the classic Grizzly clog, our breathable, comfortable boiled-wool slippers, or our fresh, new Trend styles, Haflinger footwear consistently treats your feet to the best!

Let me start by saying that I adore Haflinger shoes. Before purchasing this pair, I already owned 3 others. If you're new to the Haflinger brand, in my experience, they run big (like Birkenstock's). For example, in spite of the fact that I normally wear a size 8, in Haflinger's I have consistently worn a 38 (by their definition, a 7). That said, I really struggled with this shoe. I have the Fletcher's in brown in a 38 and they fit great. I ordered a 38 in this grey Fletcher with confidence and I was very surprised and disappointed to discover that the 38 was too short - we're talking toes at the end of the shoe, cramps in my feet - short. I returned that 38 and ordered a 39. I was disgruntled, but confident that the 39 would work. I was further disappointed and frankly irritated, to discover that the 39 was FAR too long and sloppy on my foot. I set the 39 aside and ordered another 38 in hopes that the first one I ordered was somehow off. The second pair of 38's are better, but still shorter than any of the other 38's that I own by Haflinger. The bottom line, in my experience, while Haflinger normally runs a full size big, this shoe is only maybe a half a size bigger than the US size listed. They are very roomy in the toe box and fit a wide foot nicely. Narrow footed people beware, you'll need heavy socks.Sizing aside, these are just wonderful shoes. The boiled wool is incredibly durable, versatile and warm. They are comfortable with or without socks because they breathe beautifully but they keep your feet toasty warm. I have owned my other pair of Fletcher's for years (maybe 5?) and aside from some heel-wool wear, they look new. They have a decent amount of arch support and offer a nice amount of cushioning. I highly recommend this shoe and this brand.
Fast shipping and well packaged. Beautifully made and extremely comfortable.
A. I'm a guy.B. Despite these shoes being listed as Women's, turns out nobody will come chop your feet off for having boy parts and wearing them. Which is good, because they're super comfortable for around-the-house slippers. Since they're mules, they're easy to get into or out of when needed, but I find I put that off as much as possible. They're warm and breathable, which is good because I stunk up my last pair of slippers real good. These are great, regardless of your gender. If you're looking for some good, comfortable, warm, breathable slippers with a sole, you could do a lot worse than these.c. They run small. I'm a Men's 11.5 and I barely fit into a EU44. Just for reference.
Compared to any/all Haflinger shoes I’ve owned, these definitely run large. Otherwise, same Haflinger quality.
Big Haflinger Fan. Have worn them for many years. Very well made and comfortable. I wear them every day.
UPDATE: After 5 months of wearing these 99% indoors, ALL stitching in one shoe and most of the stitching in the other just....fell out. I thought a family member was playing an joke, but no. I wanted to find time (and sturdy materials) to stitch them back together, but after 4 months they've been tossed. The insoles had deteriorated along with any arch support. Expensive mistake for me.Original review: First, be aware that the US sizes shown on this page seem to be men's, not women's. These are unisex, so for women they're a wide. I wear a women's US 7.5 medium (equal to a man's 6), and sometimes an 8 med if a shoe runs small. One of my feet is 1/2 size smaller and needs a tall custom orthotic, so a US 7.5 is a little tight once the 1/2" orthotic is slid under the necessary removable insole (which the Fletcher style has). Initially I ordered a 38, too large & long as the sizes shown are men's. Outlander shipped a replacement pronto in size 37 when requested (great service)...again, I confirm that 37 = US 7.5 women. The removable insoles are wool-topped thickish rubber, so the moderate arch is extremely comfortable. (Replacement insoles are available elsewhere online.) Slip in orthotics or heel risers below the insoles, held in place by the raised heel piece. Width is comfortable with socks of average thickness. Forgiving wool upper helps with issues like bunions. Soles are stable rubber. These aren't especially supportive shoes, but fine for errands and around home on level ground in dry weather (considering the wool components). A bit xpensive, but seem quite well made and friendly to aging feet.Additional comment: After wearing the Fletchers as house slippers for 4 months, a large, stiff, sharp-cornered tag sewn onto the face of an innersole has dug a hole into my tender foot. Ouch and a some infection. No way to detach this tag, and I like the shoes/slippers, so I must wear substantial socks with them. Also, the arch support is flagging at 4 months. Perhaps an over-the-counter orthotic can be slipped below the innersole.
I wear these most of the day during the fall and winter, and love how comfortable they are. I have high arches and have had problems with plantar fasciitis in the past. I also like the tan sole over a black sole, because these don't mark my hardwood floors. These shoes are great! I did find that these seem to run larger than the same exact shoe I bought a year and a half ago - the cut of the opening more than the length. I returned my 39EU for a 38EU, even though I normally wear an 8 1/2 US size shoe.
I bought these to replace some LLBean Wicked Good shearling slippers I had been wearing for years (they changed them and the new ones don't work for me anymore). I chose these because they have a rubber sole and arch support, unlike a lot of slippers. They were instantly comfortable on my feet and the arch support feels wonderful. They are surprisingly warm, without being too hot, which was a pleasant surprise. They are more attractive in person than in photos and the stitching really makes them look extra nice. I bought these to try on side by side with the grizzlies but the grizzlies seemed about a half to maybe a whole size smaller. I have a size 9 foot and these in 40 were perfect. I think I would need a 41 in the grizzlies. I also liked how these came up higher on the top of my foot than the grizzlies.
