Kamik rain boots are some of the perfect rain boots! They not only balance value but they fit, wear well, look great and are functional. When I say functional I mean I have pairs for heavy in the mud gardening, wearing just for rainy weather in to town. I have tried other brands (some much more expensive) and I will say the other brands except for one I bought at a feed store all had issues with sliding on rocks or something downhill in the woods...very dangerous. Most of the sliding was on wet and gravel or stone and hilly area, but kamiks that I purchased all had much better traction. I will stick with this brand!
I needed some work rainboots that could stand up to me working in my muddy yard while not killing my feet. These boots are really comfortable, and getting use several times a week for hours at a stretch, they're still showing no signs of stress cracks or anything.
Although true to size, and a great boot brand generally, I found there was no extra room for a thicker sock. I bought to adapt to cooler weather paddle boarding, but I could not fit a thick sock in boot without going a size up. Otherwise, the color was great, and since the boots themselves were thick, quite sturdy.
I've gotten Hunters for my last two pairs of rain boots, but because of my girthy calfs, I've always had to get the adjustable backs. Both of those boots wore down within the year, becoming holy due to tight quarters around the toes. I bought these at a fraction of the cost of my old pairs and they have zero tightness problems, either on the calves or the toes. These guys have happily carried me through a number of rainy days, completely dry and toasty warm. What's even more exciting is even if these guys do break down as quick as my old Hunters, I can recycle them. Well done, thanks Kamik! All that you need to do now is start making them in cute colours.
All of the boots in this listing are offered in W for Wide or D width. I received boots no width label on either the boot or the box. I could not get my wide foot into the boot. According to the Kamick website, the Miranda boot is not offered in Wide width. I submitted my suggested correction of the Miranda listing to Amazon. In addition, you should be aware that the boots have a very strong rubber odor. That factor would have prevented me from keeping the boots even if they were Wide width boots as listed.
It's comfortable and looks great. I was able to add inserts for arch support since there is none, and I like how fitted the boots are. They go to up to my lower calf and are a snug fit around jeans and socks. I've worn them a few times during rainy days and so far, so good. Hopefully they hold up!
This is my second pair within a year because I really love the color and fit, I bought these on dec-21-21 and I got them about a week later, I wear them as a dog groomer so I'm not using them in any rough environment or ways and they have torn open in the SAME EXACT SPOT my last pair ripped but they lasted 6 months these haven't even been a full 3 months of use!!! I don't know how to contact the seller to see if maybe they will do the right thing and replace them for me.. it sucks that they are not durable at all because they are great other than that...I will not be buying these again..
I originally LOVED these boots- they are of clean design, manage to fit well while not being too clunky, and I’ve gotten tons of compliments. That love affair ended about two weeks ago when I realized my entire heel was wet after coming in from the rain. The seam between the sole and shoe upper- literally right above my heel- has a giant split. I figured the time it would take to reach out to kamik wasn’t worth it, so I decided to try to patch the seam myself with waterproof superglue. Alls well until I realize today that the other shoe has developed a split in the exact same spot. I’ve only had these boots a year and certainly haven’t abused them. I love that they are recyclable, but unfortunately, it seems I’ll have to take advantage of that feature far sooner than planned.
