Boots are holding up and comfortable, true to size.
Great boots! comfortable fit for those 12 hour long work days. No slipping. Definitely recommend going up a1/2 size as the toe area feels a little snug.
I ordered these boots to replace my red wings supersole, These Keen work boots are very well made. The toes have the typical look of all Keen footwear, The materials and construction all look and feel high quality. I have somewhat wide feet, but the boots fit very well. These are definitely work boots, not only because of the protective toe but also because of their overall construction. The sole is thick and quite firm, They’re heavier than a typical recreational work boot of similar size, Closer in weight and feel to my old red wings boots. These boots are most practical for a rough or working environment, not so much for casual wear.I expect them to give me several years of use. Recommended highly 👍🏼
The heel has disinagrated in only 2 months, my instep felt odd and after looking the soft lite gray cushion was all but gone.
TLDR: Great fit and sturdy work boots! As someone that has spent over 15 years volunteering and working with Habitat for Humanity, I've gone through my share of work boots. From Wolverine to Timberland, I've used them all! For me, what makes a great boot is safety, ease of breaking in, and ease of getting off/on (esp after a long day out in the rain). These boots hit the mark on all these points, and then some. Only thing I wasn't too in love with was the lacing, but after getting the laces adjusted, I've been able to mostly slip these boots on and off easily.
Build qualityThis shoe is top notch with no defects. The sole is sewn and well attached. All the materials are high quality and the upper is constructed without any flaws as well as the sole. I am impressed with the qualityNo compromise on Comfort! This shoe is COMFORTABLE. By far the most comfortable safety shoe -- or frankly boot in general, I've worn. While you can tell from the outside it is a safety shoe you can't tell from wearing them (other than the stiffness of the ankle and the solid feel of the sole.) In other words the toebox feels like a normal show -- which is what you want!Stability! The shoe give me great foot and ankle support -- better than any other shoe or boot I've worn. If I ever go cool weather hiking -- I'm taking these! In addition the sole is wide! and helps provide great footing.Lightweight (relative)For safety shoes, these are light weight even with the increased size of the foot bed. They are just marginally heavier than a standard hiking boot... you don't feel like you're lugging around an extra pound of steel when wearing these.UseI've worn these shoes just a handful of times. They are comfortable on day one and stay that way. I really like the thick paracord like laces they make lacing up easy and quick. They do grip the hooks well and have a good amount of static friction so you aren't fighting to keep the lower laces tight as you put them on. The padding around the leg is thick and give you some extra cushion for both comfort and getting the best fit possible.LookWell, there's no mistaking it, they're safety shoes. I do like the rubber tipped to -- It helps prevent the eventual cuts that show up on leather tipped boots and keep the boots presentable longer.Final thoughts:If you have uncomfortable safety shoes, do yourself a favor and get these. They're great and I highly recommend them!
I waited a while to review these and I am glad I did. I have worn them several days now and they are breaking in nicely. The first day I wore them they were uncomfortable around my ankles. The next day they felt pretty good. And after 3 or 4 days they are extremely comfortable. The foot bed is especially comfortable . And the tightness around my ankles went away after breaking them in. They are heavy, but they are steel toes so that's to be expected. They are the first steel toe boots that I have had that I literally can't feel the toe protector in. I have had at least 10 pairs of steel toes so that's saying something. They were smaller than expected and I think I should have went up a half size but that's just because I usually like steel toes to be a little big to give me more room in the toe box. But these didn't need it. So I guess there perfect really. I like the lace system these have. They have an eye if you prefer it and quick laces which is what I use. I don't have to untie them, just pull them off the catches and leave tied. I haven't tested the waterproof rating yet but I am sure they are. Overall I am extremely pleased with these. I have always wanted to try a nice pair of KEEN boots and I can say that they don't disappoint. And I don't think you can beat the price here either
