Let me start by saying, I’m no avid hiker, but we do like to explore the great hiking trails here in NEPA. Last year I realized that I needed to get a better quality boot so I started doing research. This brand kept popping up but in another style. There was only 1 review on Amazon for this style so I was hesitant at first, but based on the reviews of this brands other styles, I ultimately decided to grab them.Im cheap y’all, and I saw some boots out there that were way out of my comfort zone, this brand included. For someone who hikes 1-2 a month, splurging $200+ on boots was not happening. I stumbled across these 73% off and scooped them up. I paid $49.50.At first glance the colors and design were adorable, I wanted to stay away from the typical brown/camo. The grey blue color combo is great.Im normally a 7, I picked up 7.5 for some sock space and they fit perfect with wool socks( see photos). The removable arch support is a great feature, so I can swap that out when needed with something with stronger support if necessary. The attached tongue and heal protector (no blisters), are great additions to the boot. The boot itself fits snuggly but not tight and the toe area gives you wiggle room to stretch or scrunch your toes. The boot hits at the perfect ankle height for added support. I can’t speak on waterproof, but they seem to be made well, thick but breathable. The only negative I see is the laces, and maybe it’s a hiking boot thing???, but the laces are a little stretchy. I really have to pull tight to get a good tie which makes me wonder if they may snap at some point. So to be prepared, I’ll grab some extra laces to toss in my backpack.Overall I am impressed with the look and feel, giving them a whirl this weekend
I’ve worn Keen boots for years, mostly steel toed, but now that I’m retired I wanted some without steel toes. These were the first Keen boots that I’ve ever had any problems with. The seem on the inside of the tongue kept rubbing the side of my left ankle. I’ve worked and worked on them until I can finally get them laced carefully so that I can wear them. I like everything else about them and didn’t want to send them back.
I exclusively wear Keens, love their longevity and foot support. So I was surprised that these shoes feel like I have on slippers. My feet are super comfortable in them.
I have been wearing Keen boots for over 10 years in a size 9, and while these boots are very similar to the Keen boots i wear, these were so small , i had to force my foot through the gusset and after i finally did get them on, they were super tight and the tow box had no room. I was really disappointed, I was looking for a lighter boot and thought these would work. I might order them in a size 9 1/2 but there is only a 1/4 inch difference between the two sizes and i dont see how that would make a big enough difference . I don't want to have to send them back again. I think it depends what country Keen boot are made in as to what the sizing is. Can't depend on my reglar size 9 any more.
A while back I stopped into an outdoors store on a whim, and after having my feet measured, I tried these boots on in the taupe color while wearing a pair of thin socks. They were quite comfortable when I stood in them, but I wasn't fond of the color or the bold KEEN logo on the side, so I decided not to buy them then. At home, I found them here on Amazon in the nice neutral grey color, on which the logo doesn't stand out so much. I went ahead and ordered them in the same size I'd tried in the store. For whatever reason, even wearing the same socks I'd tried with the taupe boots, the grey boots were too narrow for me to wear comfortably for more than a few minutes. Sadly, I had to return them. They appeared to be well made, and they were very lightweight and comfortable on the soles of my feet. They just weren't wide enough.
I have several pair of Keen hiking boots, and thought these would be a nice option for casual wear while walking my dogs on the trails. While very supportive in the footbed, and plenty of room in the toe box, they seem to run about a half-size too big overall. Have returned; will order in smaller size.
Very comfortable for long hikes. Waterproof and stylish looking.
It runs small and I had to return it my toe was at the end of the boot
