I bought these for my boyfriend as a surprise and he loves them! He didn’t have a nice pair of shoes to wear with casual or slightly dressy clothes so when I saw these I knew he needed them. They are comfortable, durable and stylish. The quality is amazing. He only wears them a few times a month when we’re going out or to family/friend gatherings but they still look brand new. I would highly recommend these for anyone looking for a nice, affordable suede shoe.
Fits great, looks good and has held up very well.
They fit perfect and they look great with jeans. These are my go to shoes for casual Friday’s.
I absolutely love these shoes/boots. As others suggested, I ordered 1/2 size down from my normal size 12. I also ordered a can of spray leather stretcher and a cheap shoe horn. The first day I wore these I sprayed some of the leather stretcher in the toe box and around the back and front (where the tongue attaches to the body of the show) of the opening. Within an hour of walking around they stretched to fit my feet perfectly. They are soo comfortable and I am surprised how many compliments a shoe can elicit. Even though I have the shoe horn I am still lazy sometimes and just cram my foot into the loosely laced boots. That has caused the fabric lining to become unglued from the back of the shoe but it still works just fine. Love them!!! Without some leather stretcher and a shoe horn I probably wouldn't have kept them, though. They are narrow at first and difficult to get on but buttery soft once broken in. I also have two leather pairs, brown and black. Love them equally as well. Bonus that they come with two sets of laces in different colors!!
They arrived earlier than i was expect it so thumbs up Amazon ! They look great, high-quality shoes and very stylish will look very nice with jeans and chinos. I have a wide feet, not very wide but wide, so i ordered half a size up (8 instead of 7,5) and i'm glad i did it. They fit nice and feel comfortable. I'm congratulating myself for the choice i make among other brands. They look better then the picture. I will purchase very soon another pair, too bad they don't have any brown or black left on my size, so i'll get a different one !
These are perfect finally a shoe that is cut with some width in the toe box area. I said slight large because I’m probable a 12-12.5 but never find a shoe that’s wide. Good look finding that!! The 13s fit well and comfortable with plenty of width. I wouldn’t call them wide just finally normal!! The small complaint they sewed a reaction label into the sole of the foot area. Stupid as you feel it sometimes like a very small pebble is under your foot. Dumb and dumber design. Waiting for the $$ to go down to get other colors/styles. I wish all the reaction shoes fit this well. Are you listening CK?
Sizing:I am aware of Kenneth Cole's sizing having had purchased black oxford dress shoes from them 8 years ago. So this one fit as expected: meaning they run very large. I wear size 9D in New Balance 1400s. I got these in a size 7.5. I have normal size D width feet but these feel a little snug and cramped in the toe area. This is due to the pointier style. Although the length feels a little shorter on the inside of the shoe, the shoe is slightly longer on the outside. I noticed this when walking up steps: my toe kept catching the next step causing me to trip because the shoe is longer than what I am used to. Not a fan of this.Pros:Low profile sole. Low profile chukka (depending on your own preference could be con). Actually hits the ankle / heel area at the same place as the New Balance 1400 sneakers. I like the dark brown color. Comes with 2 laces: color matching dark brown laces and another set of gray / light taupe laces.Cons:1. Sole is not durable. Worn only around the house for about 2 hours (wood and carpet only) to test fit. The inside corner of the right heel has broken away leaving the rubber-ish sole part now flaking away even faster like a chewed pencil eraser. Can't imagine how it's going to hold up on sidewalks and streets.2. Suede is also of bad quality. Listed as "imported." Kenneth Cole will write several lines in the description about how he used a truck and models to start his business in the 80s but can't write "Leather and man made textile made in China." Suede is split leather and although it might not be waterproof, you can tell the quality of suede by seeing if a single drop of water will bead or just just soak through and stain. Even without any treatment real quality suede will bead water at least for a few seconds. This does not. It immediately soaks through and causes an ugly stain. I am not against China but it is known for their hazardous leather manufacturing processes that are unregulated. Questionable materials and chemicals could have been used.3. Lost faith in Kenneth Cole as brand. As mentioned in reason #2. But I purchased this Kenneth Cole Desert Sun Chukka at the same time as the Kenneth Cole Brace Horse Chukka in the same size. The Brace Horse Chukka is an inch longer. Also although marketed as "leather" again, the noxious fumes and the scratch that it arrived with shows that the leather used was some sort of bonded leather polyurethane type deal. The scuffed part that it arrived with looks like cardboard. I am trying to eliminate petroleum based products and harsh chemicals in my life and when a company is not transparent it makes trying to live healthy even harder.Wish the heel of the right sole didn't chip away while I was testing the shoe for size inside my house on wood floors and carpet. Otherwise this would have gone straight back too.I really like the design but poor materials, horrible durability and questionable toxicity of this shoe leaves me wanting to warn other potential customers who are concerned about such things.
What I ordered is not what I received. The photo showed I ordered the gray with a hounds tooth type material for the front of the shoe. What I received was a plan gray suede shoe. The description shows Desert Sun as the name and so did the box it came in. The shoe is a bit narrow and required me to remove the laces out of the top eyes to get my foot in. It seems it may loosen with continued wear but time will tell. I'd say on the comfort level they're a 2 out of 5 which could increase the more they break in. I needed the shoes or I would have returned them. Be careful of what you order, it may not be what you receive as the photos are deceiving.
