True to size with great support and comfort
I have had these shoes for over 10 years. I wear these from September - March and wear wool socks with them in really cold months. They look great with jeans or dockers and are extremely handy if you bounce inside and outside as often as I do. They are really good for golf when you need to switch shoes quickly. Very comfortable and built well. I did spend a bit for them but as much use as I got out of them over the years, it was a solid investment. I did end up weather proofing and it changed the look. I really liked the original look better but I wanted them to last. If I didn't weather proof, I am confident one drip of something with oil or grease on the nubuck (I often wear them when grilling outside) would have ruined the look of the leather. The insoles are replaceable and it is like getting new shoes all over again.
My old man loves his clogs. He had a pair years ago, and was so happy to receive them for a gift. They fit as expected, and are so comfortable, and great looking!
Don't be put off like I was at first. They are tight , stiff, firm , not fun for the first few days or so. Like all good leather and for one that is against barefeet they needed to be warn and loosened up. Now they are softer and much more comfortable. First impression was not the best. Enjoying them now - - ->>>
The footbed feels good underfoot. I put these on and found myself standing better and my back settling. Critical info: the buckles are functional and they actually make a difference. The clogs are heavy, though. You have to like that feel or get used to it. If you like Naot, which I do (I have sandals, dress shoes, and urban boots), these are different, and I like them differently. Same cork thing, but the clog platform and the stiff leather upper make it different.
This is my second pair of Naot Fiord clogs. I bought my first pair 8 years ago, and have been wearing them at home daily (95% inside, 5% outside), until I popped two of the rivets holding the straps on. I had them repaired — for $15. Otherwise, they show surprisingly little wear, both on the soles and the uppers, considering the amount of use I’ve gotten out of them! (See photos) The new ones are exactly the same, and fit just like the superb old ones. No problem with outsourcing and declining quality here. Now I have 2 pair to rotate, as you should for longest wear. Before I found Naot, I tried on Dansko, Finn Comfort, Merrell, and Birkenstock, and wore Romika and Josef Seibel. My feet are hard to fit. I ordered Romika first this time around, but returned them, and went with Naot again because they are durable, adjustable, and the insoles are removable/renewable, so I can get a custom fit. Yes, they are very expensive, even without counting replacement orthotics, but you do what you have to do. Samuel Hubbard insoles work great for me. The Naot insoles are beautifully made with quality suede and natural cork, and it seems a shame just to give them away, but I’m sure they’re heaven for people with high arches!Amazon and Zappo's were great with the return.
This is the first purchase of a Naot product. I've typically used the Birkenstock Boston clogs (comfortable, expensive, but wear out FAST). The Naot design has been okay, not a favorite though. The leather quality is not quite as good as the Birkenstock and the insole area is definitely not as comfortable either.I like the outsole, good grip, non-slip. The product design itself is not quite perfect. For example, because the leather is relatively thin and where it comes down the sides near rear of the shoe, it attaches too far back and regularly, as I slip it on my feet, my feet crimp the leather sides. More of an annoyance, but it's something that I'm reminded of at least half the time I wear itIf they used a better quality leather, slightly stiffer, that wouldn't happen. But I didn't return it. that's a good sign.
These are the most comfortable shoes I've ever had. I wear them daily, and work as a maintenance supervisor. They're getting a little scuffed up, but holding up just fine. You can tell that they're high quality, and will last a long time. Love 'em!
