This sandal is, as expected with Naot shoes, of excellent quality. I have been wearing Naot sandals for almost 20 years and have yet to find anything as comfortable or as durable. Multiple pairs have walked all over the Yucatan, Oaxaca, Italy and China, and many parts of the U.S. They are my every day sandals in the summer here in New England. I purchased the Aubrey as an extra pair for a return to Italy this spring, thinking they would be a little "dressier". Much to my disappointment I found that the soles are completely inflexible. The footbed is comfortable but I cannot bend my foot while walking. Definitely not a good choice for traveling or actually for walking! Sadly I will return them.
If I had a special occasion this summer I would keep this beautiful sandal. The black leather and chain detail are high quality. I wear 9.5 to 10 and bought the 10. It fits my narrow boney foot perfectly. Love the height and comfortable footbed. But I just can’t justify such a high price for a sandal with barely any leather. You decide, if money is no object and you really need a dressy black sandal, this could be the one for you.
