I tried on 7 pairs of Birkenstocks, different sizes and models. They just didn't fit the shape of my foot. Then, I tried this Naot. Even though it is a heavier shoe than a Birkenstock, it is more comfortable and seems to have more padding. It is extremely well made. It didn't require any "break in" time at all. I usually wear an 8 1/2 and ordered a size 40. I may need to punch another hole in the strap for a snugger fit at some point, but not yet. Would highly recommend. In fact, I bought another sight-unseen closed-toe Naot in the same size, and it fit just as well. I'm a permanent Naot fan now. They fit my feet perfectly.
I have feet issues..and honestly, these are one of the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn! Great arch support and comfortable footbed, adjustable straps for custom fit. I could not love these sandals more..
I love these sandals! Can be worn with socks in the winter and "sockless" in the summer. Not cute or fancy just plain comfortable "no frills" sandals. This is my second pair . (My first pair were really old ) I was getting ready to walk out the door when my new pair arrived. I literally opened the box, put them on and walked out the door. It was like a new "old" friend. No break in needed . (For some people that might not be the case ,of course). Cute, fancy sandals are nice on occasion but for everyday comfort and wear these are my favorite..
I love the removable footbed because I can put my custom orthotics in these. The cork foot bed is very comfortable as well.
I've been buying this sandal for many years. It is a great support shoe. I would give the shoe a 5 star if it had velcro. The shoe starts to stretch after a period of time and a velcro closure would tighten the closure more than the three or four holes currently positioned on the shoe.
Perfect. Used as what they were supposed to be…shoes!
I love these shoes. They are made for a wide foot and provide a comfortable, supportive fit. This is my second pair - only the footbed has worn out on the first pair. I replaced it and am still wearing these as my everyday shoes.
I returned these because they didn't feel right. You see in the pic, the two straps are not separate? The "webbing" joining them buckles when the sandal bends, tickling the side of the foot with each step. I took maybe fifty steps in them and hated it. I suspect that it would get more and more annoying. They are also a bit too eye catching, between the big, coarse ("decorative"?) seam around the edge of the sole, and the yellow footbed. I had hoped they'd look prettier in person but they actually looked louder. I found they were roomy through the instep, which is a huge plus! I have very high insteps so that most comfort shoes (ie Merrel) pinch the top of my foot badly, if I can even get them on. These were fine, and with a buckle system, you can even punch an extra hole if you need a touch more height. So I am probably going to try another Naot model. I can't really say what the arch support is like, as my arches are too high to even touch them. I get custom insoles which is why I am seeking sandals with removable insoles. Width seems average. I have a medium width foot and these were fine width-wise.
