Wow!These boots definitely have all the attributes of an amazing fashion/everyday boot. I purchased the black color and the leather is soft and comfortable, but not thin. There is a subtle texture to the leather, not that flat, glossy, plasticy stuff some leather products are made from. The shine is minimal, so they don't look like dress boots, which is great. The comfort is very good. I haven't broken them in, if that's even necessary, and the comfort is much better than another pair of more expensive boots I own. They fit true to size, and they wrap around my foot nicely, meaning they are not chunky like some other boots in this category. The Vibram sole is also great, as expected. Flexible and grippy. The ankle comes up fairly high, but not too high. I think they did a good job making them high enough to feel like "real boots" without being too restrictive in the ankle. Also, and this is silly, but when I opened the box it smelled amazing! It also came with a cute, handwritten note from Nisolo (it's a small company in Mexico) thanking me for my purchase. I'll be honest in saying that I wasn't buying these boots for the social impact aspect, but Nisolo makes an effort to provide good wages to its workers in addition to supporting forests in the Amazon Basin. Not a bad deal!All this for a reasonable price (even cheaper on Amazon than the official Nisolo site!) is quite absurd. If you think you might like these boots, give them a try!Extra information for picky customers like me:These boots do not have speed hooks in the top half. However, the eyelets and laces slip past one another well enough that lacing them up and down isn't too bad. That said, I will be installing aftermarket speed hooks myself. Also, I find the toe shape to be slightly pointer than I usually like, but not nearly as pointy as dress boots, thankfully. However, because black leather boots tend to be serious/aggressive, the slight point makes it clear they are not trying to be either of those things, so I actually ended up liking it. It all balances well.
I never review products I buy but I thought these boots deserved it.First of all I like the fact that the company that makes the boots is socially responsible. Secondly, these are serious boots.I wear 9.5 shoe and I bought 9.5 in these boots. When I put them on for the first time they felt very stiff and snug around the feet. I was a little concerned but I figured I need time to break down the leather and they will adjust to my feet, eventually. They are covered in wax when they arrive so when you open the box they smell great.The boots look great in jeans or other trousers. I’ve only had them for a day but I’ve noticed people looking at them. I’m sure that with time the leather will soften and be the best pair of boots I’ve ever owned.
Let me start off with saying these are a great pair of boots regardless of the price. They are comfortable and very stylish. I am a 8.5 men's and had to get the 8s as they do run a tad big. The leather is great quality and the company has great values in regards of how it sources it leather. The only reason for a 4 star and not a 5 was that my first pair came in looking like they the leather had a very different look than the picture, they replaced the boots and the second one still had a worn/textured look to it. When clearly the picture shows smooth leather. I didn't want to bother changing them again as their returns do take awhile. Other than that, I would recommend them instead of higher over priced name boots.

I bought a pair of the black ones and the leather is very supple and after a week or so, they've softened up even more. I've since bought a pair in waxed brown, the leather on this one is much tougher but still very comfortable. These boots go well with jeans or chinos and even with a hoodie. They sound very high quality when walking, don't know if that's a thing or how to describe. But it has a very subtle boot walking sound that is very satisfying to the ear. I returned the Thursday boots captain in favor of these. Love how lightweight these boots are, can wait till they're fully broken in.
