I have been wearing Nurse Mates Bryar for many years. They are the most comfortable and supportive shoes. I am no longer in healthcare but I still decided to purchase these shoes because of how well they are made and the comfort. True to size
Love them they look better than the picture. After wearing them for a while they have some creases but I'm ok with that they are comfortable to walk in.They are I little tight so I had to cut them on the sides but it is not noticeable and it doesn't affect the appearance or function.I say go for it true size and if a little tight there is an easy fix with this model.I looove them!
I was very disappointed with this shoe. I have always been very satisfied with my prior purchases of a bryar shoe. I have them in multiple colors and have found them to be super cute and comfortable. Unfortunately this time around, I found the material to be hard and not pliable. Not comfortable. And the color (black) is not muted as it appears in the selection. Not sure what’s going on with this brand.
Nursemate Bryar Shoes have been a lifetime favorite of mine. Used for work as an RN, for comfort and fashion, and then you find yourself wearing them all the time. So I have many. Work ones, house ones, go out ones etc. My dtg once said "Mom please tell me youre not wearing those to Disney". I did plan on it as they are so comfortable but instead wore sneakers and wished that whole trip that I wore my nursing shoes! NM Bryar (black) are very comfortable, tend to be a little looser than the white ones. The style bryar you would think would be the same whether black or white but they are not. Arch support is good but better on the white. Leather that wraps around your heel area is a little bit lower than the white and my feet (heels) tend to slip up & out at times, whereas the white you can feel much more support, that area is higher and more snug. Overall these NM Bryar shoes are my favorite, blk & wht. Just wish they were the same exact of everything as the white ones. Still love them. Now Retired from Nursing and still purchase both colors and yes wear them all the time everywhere. Even with my pj's, and if I ever go to Disney again I dont care what anyone thinks, I will be wearing my comfortable NurseMate Bryar shoes.
These shoes gave me blisters and sores at first, so I was thinking WTF? I thought I hated them. But I doubled up on socks for a little while, and broke the shoes in. And once they were broken in, wow. They are so comfortable. I forget I have them on. I don't have to wear two layers of socks anymore, either. The leather stretches and expands to your foot. I haven't had issues with my toes sliding forward due to the heel, I'd say if you have that problem your shoes are too big. I love the heel, it looks sexy (for nurse shoes). I hope they keep it just the same because once they wear out I plan to buy more of the same style. But they don't look like they'll be wearing out any time soon.
These shoes are relatively attractive... RELATIVELY compared to other nursing shoes. They met my school's dress code and keep my feet safe. The heel on the back of the shoe is not high, but you feel that you are wearing heels, especially when walking down lots of steps. My pair ran a little big, which is okay because sometimes I put on thicker socks and tights in the winter. Also, since the shoe was a little big and it has that heel, my feet tend to slide forward in the shoe towards the toe. This is only bothersome at the end of a VERY long day or if my panty hose are pulled up too high on my feet. It is a good shoe, great price, easy to clean, light weight, and have stood up well to the rigors of clinicals, skills labs, and the like. I would buy these shoes again.Update: one year later! The shoes are still in great shape after ALL that they have gone through. The leather on top is still intact and like new and the heel, toe, and sole, are all intact and not compromised. However, I will say that my foot still does slide forward in the shoe and the heel/impact from walking on those hosital floors has caused some significant foot pain, where I need to use hot and cold therapy and sit with my feet up. I got some insoles for the shoes and it resolved my issue though. I do have very very very flat feet, and so that probably contributes to the problem. Again, great shoes, from what I know now, I would not buy anything with that heel (makes walking down stairwells quickly a little scary), and probably would have opted for a shoe with more shock absorbancy. However, i do still love my shows and see no need in buying another pair.
I got this same shoe several years ago and I absolutely loved them. These were way small. I could barely get my foot in the shoe, I was very sad, however I ordered another size and hope they fit.
I’ve been wearing these forever in a really large hospital. I love them. Great for wide feet. My foot is triangular shaped and the roomy toe box is perfect for me. They have a small heel which help my back pain. Very nice quality. If you walk a lot at work you will want to replace them every 8-12 months.
