Edit February 2024:I purchased these in June 2022, so they lasted me nearly two years before the seam at the front of the toe started to come undone. I would say that's pretty acceptable wear for a pair of shoes I wear every day for 16 hours. The old pair are still pretty comfortable, they wore in nicely becoming more flexible without ever feeling too loose or like they would slip off. The soles start very hard but do soften up over time. The insoles did lose a lot of their shape, but they remain more supportive than being bare foot.Over all I'm satisfied with these as house shoes, and purchased a new pair.Original Review:I've been wearing these as house shoes while working from home. They're comfortable, light, and very breathable. Plus, you can slip them on easily. They are comfortable with or without socks, and walking in them with the back folded down isn't awkward feeling as it is on most slippers. When looking for house shoes, I wanted something I could wear with socks without my feet getting too hot, but that I could also wear without socks and wouldn't soak up a lot of sweat. I also wanted them to be easy to slip on, and not uncomfortable to wear all day. These shoes fit the bill pretty well. They aren't perfect, as others have pointed out the soles are really hard. I haven't had an issue with them being "too loud" but I can see why it bothers others. They also aren't the most grippy. I probably would not recommend these for someone to actually walk around and stand in for a long time, they do run a bit loose (which is good for my use case) so you would probably get blisters if you went for a walk in them. But just around the house, mainly sitting at a desk, they work great.
I’ve spent the entire summer absolutely hating closed toed shoes. I only wear them at work when I am required to and still take them off every chance I get. When work is done, they come off and the sandals go on as soon as I get to the car.Today is the first day I’ve worn these shoes and I did not want to take them off. Didn’t even think about it once today. They are super comfortable. They’re breathable with minimal sweating. I didn’t even change to sandals after work. They don’t need a break in period, they’re great right out of the box. They look really good. I love these shoes and can’t recommend them enough.
I use these as slippers that I can wear to occasionally wear outside to get the mail or sit on the deck. They are nice and light weight, but still give some solid support while being comfy. In Michigan winter, I wear fleece lined boots and I wouldn't use these. Too lite and airy for winter, but great the rest of the year. Unless you live down south. Then great for year-round.
If you're the type of monster that walks around with your shoes folded under your feet, these are for you! (I can't do it. But I will to go get the mail or take out the trash)Out of the box these shoes are better looking than advertised, and feel well made.On the feet 2 stars are lost... I have safety toe work boots that have more cushion, and there's an odd lump(?) behind my pinky toes. The mesh construction earns a star back because it's perfect. My feet aren't ever hot or cold. It's a mild winter here in the Midwest and mesh shoes are typically a no-no but these keep my feet comfortable around the house.
My husband got a pair of these 10+ years ago. He still has them but are faded from wearing them on the boat in the salt and sun. So I decided to buy him a new pair! Had to send them back a couple time for sizing issues. I hope they don’t stop making these! I don’t see them on their website anymore…
This is my third pair of Olukai and they never disappoint. Quality and comfort top notch and love the style. I will try to find an excuse to buy another pair. Highly recommend.
Nice wide toe box, very light weight and breathable. Love them
Let me start by saying the shoes are well-constructed and look great. The quality is good in general. I am used to very good shoes. For years I've worn Johnston & Murphy, Clark, or New Balance. I purchased these to bang around the house and maybe the beach. For that, they are great. They are light and comfortable. However, I don't think they're great for walking very far. I have tried it and the support just isn't there. That is the only reason I didn't give them a 5-star rating. The shoes I had previously (Clark sandals) could be worn all day for walking with no problem. I still like the Olukais and they be perfect for you.
