Update SEP 2020: Still in good shape. Definitely worth the money.Update AUG 1, 2019: After having these almost 8 months, I am still very happy with them. I would buy them again. I was wearing them most days except when sneakers or steel toes were needed, until the weather got above 95 degrees. I have appreciated the light weight, and the comfort has remained great so far. No trouble with the zippers or other parts so far. Because the leather is light weight and they are tall, they tend to sag when just standing on the shelf not being worn. I stuff an old T-shirt inside to help them keep their shape. After getting them dirty and wet a few times, I can suggest using a good quality cleaner/protectant on them, same as used on the $600 Wescos I own. I use "Leather Only" brand of product. First clean and dry them, then use the product to maintain the leather in good condition.DEC 8, 2018The correct way to measure a boot height for fitting is from the footbed to the top of the boot. The shaft height. The 16" claimed is from the floor to the top, so includes the sole and the heel thickness.That said, I also got a size larger than usual and use thick socks and these are as comfortable as sneakers. Light weight and cool, maybe 5 oz. leather. Much cooler in summer than the heavy duty and expensive Wesco boots worn in the winter. I'm always bashing into things 12-15" above the floor, so they are doing the job they were bought for and this is where a typical shortie 10" work boot is not worth pouring water out of.The skinny or slim crowd should try the Adtech brand, similar to these but much slimmer. A Chippewa boot may also be better there. The thing to do assuming you can get ahold of anyone on the phone is to ask.These are a great value for the money. I'd buy again.

The boots are large, and I mean in a good way. Leather smells great, looks great, feels great to the touch. The leather boot is slightly adjustable with small belts in place. The soles are thick. However, one of my three complaints, are that the heel is uneven, one side of the heel is shorter than the other, and my second remark is that not enough cushioning(toes move up and down too much, could use thicker insoles), third and last remark is that the adjustable belts can use more holes in them. I only meant these remarks as something to improve on, these boots are perfect, and I'm keeping them. Thank you guys for selling me these, I truly appreciate them. These are not just boots, these are a piece of art.

I got these boots and I was excited because for the first time in a long time I got a pair of boots that fit exactly right. Well that's about it though, after the 3 day of wearing the boots , I'm a trucker by the way so no intense wear, well I notice the soul falling off, left with no choice I had to glue it back on, about the next day or so I put them on and the zipper failed. I managed to make it work for a few days. Now I'm home, put my boots on and my zipper failed again,at the top, now I'm stuck in the boot and embarrassed because I had to get help to get the new boots off.. other than that the boots are great!

Most of the commercial Santa boots are cheaply made and do not last very long. These 16” Ridetecs boots are subtle, well styled, can be polished, easily add bells, and work well with Santa pants for tucking in or leaving out. These are affordable and I recommend the zipper style for easy in and out of costume changes. 2-thumbs up from this seasoned Santa.
