Bought for camping/fishing trip. Hubby loves them. Great water resistance, comfortable fit especially because we ordered in wide which is hard to find!!! Highly recommend
Great look. Great fit. Great experience all around.
Have been using this boot for three months now, so this is an edited review. I had the same model boot from 10 years ago. I used the boot for general winter wear in snow, farm work, and hiking in the summer. The leather quality isn't as good as the old boot and the sole is much less aggressive. The insole of the older boot was a 10 but it eventually got hard and had to be replaced. I tried to contact Rockport for a new insole, but got no response, so I had to go with a generic insole. The boot maintained it's waterproofing the entire time. The sole of the old boots started to detach so I replaced the boots. The new boot has a worthless insole (I give it a 2) with an initially good feel for daily use and working farm chores and short walk of a mile or less., but after a 5 mile hike in hilly terrain training llamas on a dirt trail my feet were absolutely killing me. No insole foot support whatsoever. After the hike my feet felt like the factory insoles were made of wood. Immediately get some high quality insoles if you buy this boot. The ankle has more support and comfort around the top of ankle and is greatly improved over the old boot. Break in was non existent for me, since my foot was accustomed to the boot style, and the new ankle opening. The old boots gave me ten years of good service. I expect this one to do as well with the Ortho Feet insoles. Hope this helps.
Well made , fit great.
These Rockport Hiker boots are okay in quality. The description says that these shoes are 100% leather. Well, the top of the tongues are made of synthetic material that causes the shoes to have a squeaky noise. Somebody suggested using cotton tape to reduce the noise. The leather scuffs easy and the soles do not look aggressive enough for serious hiking through treacherous terrain.I will use these for casual wear. Be cautious if you try to walk on ice with these. They have terrible traction compared to a $15 pair of Walmart rain boots.
Great fit. Took awhile to ship.
This is the second pair of Rockport hiker boots I have purchased, identical models, or so I thought. My first pair were great. Very comfortable insole, very quiet (no squeaks) and so far have been very long lasting even with the abuse I give them. But this new purchase... so disappointing! They squeak like crazy. Walk in a quiet room and everyone turns around to see what the noise is. The other problem is that this newer pair just does not have the same inner sole composition, not nearly so comfortable on my feet as the old pair.I don't know what happened but I'd guess the bean counters figured out how to cut costs at the expense of quality.Updated: I contacted Rockport. They blew me off, saying that I purchased my boots through a "third party" even though it says "Rockport Shoes" as the seller on Amazon.Don't buy. The boots are low quality and the customer service is worse.
These are great
