Most comfortable boot you will ever own or wear. They are lightweight, shine up nicely and hold up well to the rigors of daily wear. Only downside is they are not as waterproof as some other models but the comfort trumps that for me. I have tried other boots and brands over 2 decades but these have performed so well for me as an every day boot that I keep coming back to them and won't waste my time or money with anything else.
Been buying a pair for work every year for six years…they are comfortable for six to seven day weeks on your feet for 12+ hours a day. After seven years I finally had to switch to a different boot due to new orthodics, but I loved these.
These are some great boots. I had a pair before and wanted to buy the same ones again. The boots were nice and snugg and comfortable. At first they were a little stiff, but I thought with in a couple weeks I would break them in. Well long story short, the right boot keeps rubbing and applying pressure to the top of my right toe. I was thinking it will go away. Everything else feels great on my feet except that one pressure on top of my right toe.
The Chukka boot was issue in the past but not now. I am very unhappy with the Danner boots now issued. I went with this boot because I like the high top. This is a super comfortable boot. There is little isolation so it should be worn with appropriate socks. Way awesome boot. A++++++++++++++. Get the message?
Bought these boots for work, carrying mail, after my previous pair of work boots wore out within a year. Only complaint with that manufacturer’s boot was that I went through the soles in six to seven months, which is a deal-breaker. So I decided to give the Rocky postals a go. I’d worn Rocky boots before and remembered them as holding up fairly well to regular wear and presumably the soles would stand up to the multiple miles I’d subject them to on a nearly daily basis.Wow was I wrong.I was skeptical and underwhelmed when I opened the box. The “leather” feels very thin and I still can’t tell if it’s synthetic or incredibly low quality leather. The tongue at least looks/feels genuine. Nonetheless, I tried to keep an open mind. They fit adequately I suppose. Laces are the thin, flimsy feeling type and they never really manage to snug up to where I want them to be. Definitely need to be double-knotted if you don’t want to be re-tying them throughout the day. Somewhere around two weeks of use, the outsole split at the toe. Badly. I extended the benefit of the doubt it was a manufacturing defect and returned them for a replacement pair. They made it a month before the rubber and leather decided to part ways on both boots at the in-step. Of course the soles are glued on so it’s not like I could get them restitched. So they’re not even close to water resistant any more, just in time for the cold and wet of the winter months. On the plus side, the tread doesn’t seem to be eroding too rapidly. Too bad that’s the only bit that isn’t disintegrating. So in summation, whatever quality and craftsmanship Rocky once could claim is long gone. For the price, they’re absolute rubbish and I’m extremely annoyed I’ve wasted my money. Do NOT buy this boot unless you’re into paying a premium for DIY sandals.Update: 12/29Week of Christmas, the tread COMPLETELY separates from the rest of the sole on my right boot. Just the thing to not only become a tripping hazard, but scoop up all the rain, mud, and snow I happen to encounter. My disdain for Rocky boots is now eternal.
I purchased these in an effort to try to find a replacement postal approved shoe since the new balance 702 was discontinued. I have wider feet and it's almost impossible to find something that fits decently that's also postal approved. These boots have a soft padded footbed were pretty comfortable to walk in around my house. I read on Rocky's site that the footbed has an anti-microbial/bacterial coating called "Aegis Microbe Shield" on their proprietary "Rocky Air-Port" cushion system. I know that anything anti-microbial would help in any work shoe but I don't know how long that coating lasts. These also have a non-metallic stabilizer built into them which would be good if you have any problems with suppination/over-pronation as it will help your foot not roll over. The leather upper is not very soft but I thought it was of high enough quality that it would break in quickly. It seemed thicker and more sturdy than other postal shoes I've tried on. The tongue on the left boot was sewn in slightly off-center so it made a crease in the tongue when lacing them evenly at the top.The construction seemed to be fairly good only a few manufacturer blemishes/defects. The most obvious one being the tongue being sewn in crookedly. The shoestrings were fairly good quality. The tread lugs were more than ample to walk around in the snow/mud/rain and feel fairly confident.I only tried them on around my house and didn't get out into the world with them. Ended up returning them because they hurt enough after wearing them around the house that I decided to return them and continue my quest for a postal shoe that I can actually work in.
I discovered Rocky TMCs many years ago when I was turned on to the Post Office SR/USA requirement for cushioned shoes for its employees. I am on my feet for hours and needed comfortable shoes. The Rocky TMC shoe and boot are super-comfortable due to its footbed which makes your TMC footwear more comfortable than your sneakers. The boots last forever and the footbed is replaceable for a good price once they finally wear out. If you require extremely comfortable shoes or boots these are them!
Great boot. I wore those when I delivered mail walking about 12 miles 6 days a week. I then wore it in prison standing 8 hours a day as a corrections officer. A very comfortable boot that is well built. It is now my work boot for outside. Made in usa and rocky boots are unmatched.
