This is a decent boot. I got them through a warehouse deal so I paid less than half of what the going price seems to be "new". At that price they were a no-brainer. They are a much better boot than anything you will find in the $150 price range. My normal everyday boots are Danner Quarrys which run north of $300. I also have a pair of White Smoke Jumpers. I share this only to give you an idea of the type of boot I am used to.My initial impression is that they are fairly rugged and sturdy. I generally wear black boots but I like the overall look of them. I feel the leather is a little bit thinner than some of the boots I'm used to but more durable than a more entry level boot. They do stuff very easily. Dragging your fingernail across them will result in a lighter color even if there is not a noticeable abrasion to the leather. I believe they call this type of leather crazy horse. I went ahead and put some mink oil on them and they are so far waterproof at least two or three inches up to the kilties. I like the fact that they are very light in terms of actual weight. Granted this is relative and being viewed through a lens of someone used to boots with steel or alloy toes and steel shanks.A feature I do not like about them is the fact that the tongue is not fully leather. The black part of the tongue that can be seen in one of my close-up pictures is what appears to be a neoprene like material. Almost like a wet suit type feel. I also am not a fan of that reflective stripe that goes around the heel area of the boot. I feel that will be an area of weakness. They have taken a little bit of breaking in to get comfortable but no more than any other heavy duty boot. Maybe even less. Overall they are a decent boot but probably a step below some of the made in USA options that can be had for another $50 or so. I'm not disappointed in my purchase by any means but if I were paying regular price I would have spent probably another $100 and gotten one of the other boots I am familiar with.I am very hard on boots so time will tell how these hold up. I'll try to remember to update this review in 6 months or so.
I absolutely love these boots. Great fit, look, and size. Long day on my feet and they work great. I get compliments and people asking me where I got these boots..
