These athletic shoes are out of this world! The way that they are made is very lightweight but extremely supportive. Regardless of how long you wear them and what you are doing you are always comfortable and supported. These shoes are great for dance and Court work as well as working out gym or just to wear casually. I love the color. Normally I would not go for a basic black shoe but this is not basic. The photos on the website shows the gold threads that are throughout the entire fabric on the shoe. It is much more impressive when you look at it in person. Subtle but still very there! My feet are extremely sensitive and these shoes are totally comfortable whether you are wearing a sock or going without a sock. I was looking for performance in the athletic shoes that I buy and I've certainly found it with this brand! This is not the only pair I own. They are that good!
These are true to size, I'm a 9 - 9.5 street shoe and 10 in sneakers and these are a perfect fit. The toe box is slightly wider compared to Mizuno and Nike but I think it's great. I use them in the gym and for light cardio and training. There's not a lot of cushioning in the toe box, but I did not expect there to be since these are called training shoes. They are perfect for training and I'll stick with my Mizuno's for running.
The heel support is amazing--like a cushioned party at the back of your foot! Normally the heels of shoes are too big for me, but not these. The lateral support is also excellent. I do 15-30 minutes of dance cardio about 4 times per week in these. I have felt a tiny bit of discomfort in my knees (this is new)--so I am not sure about that yet. Also I expected more cushion/support at the front of my foot since I am up on my toes a lot for dance cardio. Because of other reviews, I ordered a half size up--however those were too big, so I reordered in my normal size of 7.5 and they fit perfectly. The main reason I ordered these was because I was experiencing extreme daily pain in my left foot and hip from my last shoes (Nike Frees) which were just not meant for the lateral moves in dance aerobics. So these Ryka's TOTALLY eliminated that pain, for which I am very, very happy. The colors on the shoe were true to the picture too.Overall, good for the price, however I will try the Ryka Influence Cross trainer for my next shoe since they have great reviews too.
So comfortable
I love Ryka shoes. They have been the best support for my feet while working out. These shoes I just bought looked simple at first, then I stepped in the sunlight and wow did they sparkle! I’m not into super flashy workout shoes. This was just enough for me. The only problem I have with them is that they are so cute I don’t want to break them in and ruin them. Other than that, this is a great product.
A few days after I ordered my Ryka sneakers, I received a transit report notice and realized I did not change my old shipping address. I contacted the store and they got back to me right away to let me know they would redirect the sneakers. A few days later I received the sneakers at my new address, no problem. I was amazed at how willing they were to help me and Gabriel shoes needs to be recognized for great customer care. Unfortunately, the sneakers were a little tight on my toe so I am returning them. They do look like great quality though.
The there is no arch or heel support. The shoe lining is rough and the foot bed is more than rough It's as if the manufacturer forgot to put in the insole. Unfortunately I didn't realize this until I had worn them once for a zumba class and therefore couldn't return them.
I ordered size 11 - which is around the 42.5 I use for jazzercise. Perhaps the other smaller sizes are different. The laces are oddly spaced and don’t create a good fit. Oddly, these shoes cause PAIN in the top, front part of my ankle. I relaces 2 alternate ways, but still had the sensation of a zip cord pulled right across the foot where the tongue of the shoe goes. I have never actually had a zip tie blind on my foot … but that’s the closest approximation I can describe if the sharp pain that occurred when I took a step forward.
