These are the first time I have used a composite toe safety boot instead of a steel toe boot. The try before you pay feature is fantastic, I purposefully ordered 1/2 size longer in extra wide. I also add half-length arch supports. The fit was very good and at the end of the day my toe's did not feel as if they were cut-in-half. I "test wore" for three times at the work site in actual use and I did fine from the foot comfort point of view. I plan on having these in the winter months with heavy socks. My steel toe leather mid-high work boots weigh 2.0 pounds each, these composite toe boots weight 1.75 pounds each, lastly my steel toe summer low tops weigh 1.1 pounds each. With 6000 steps at the end of the day my lower legs are tired with the mid-height boots (I'm pushing 70 years young). I also observed that at the end of the day these really absorbed the heat of the day.If you need safety shoes for your activities, then these are worth considering.
When my favorite work boots went mysteriously awol, I aggravatedly began a search for replacements. I settled on these because they’re comfortable, extremely sturdy, and just so ugly I will have no problem subjecting them to all the hard labor I’ve got to do. They’re actually very nice, more so for the price!
I bought the in February, i work in disposal. The shoes are a bit uncomfortable but I thought because I got a size bigger. Seemed pretty good until now when it’s rained. The first thing that wears out is the glue of the sole and water seeps in. I got sewage water in my boot which really pissed me off but considering the price it’s okay. They still looked in good shape but don’t expect it to be water resistant that long. The inside soles some how rub off , I’m not even over weight and the soles just start to disintegrate. Life expectancy of the boot 4-5 months until water starts to deep in and leather starts to crack/peel.
I bought these boot a while back for work , when I was a VW air cooled engine builder , have been doing that for over 40 years . Well, i still have them and they do the job for me . don Pardew retired VW mechanic .
They advertise memory-foam insoles, but they flattened to nothing before a single shift was through. Had to buy Dr. Scholl's to make them usable.Additionally, the fit is a bit loose, even considering reinforced-toe boots tend to fit loosely to begin with. I have gotten a blister or two breaking them in.If I had it to do over again, I'd probably spend a little more and get a different brand.Edit: Well, I've worn through these boots now, and I can confidently say these are among the worst pairs of footwear I've ever owned. The insole flattened immediately, there was never any arch support, and the fit managed somehow to be both too loose and too tight at the same time. Worst of all, I experienced numbness in my big toes after long shifts. My little toe would catch on the edge of the composite toe whenever I would kneel, and more than once I felt the need to check to see if I'd torn my nail or was bleeding afterward.Do yourself a favor and look for other, better work shoes.
Ok, this is my out-of-the-box impression. I will update if my assessment changes.1. Immediate fit - lots of space. My size is 13 - I ordered 14 wide. I do regret this decision in the. My feet fit inside, there was plenty of space for my toes, and my foot did not feel cramped. However, the bridge of the shoe didn't grip my foot tightly enough to prevent slippage.I'm gonna have to do a lot of walking, and I'll be seeing just how comfortable these shoes truly are. Inside and outside, all temperatures, etc. So....might be returning for a smaller size before I try it out...2. Insole - generic, but good. I don't feel any heat building up, and that's a step in the right direction. If it doesn't impress me, I'm inclined to buy a better-quality insole.3. lacing - I love that top eyelet. It should be very helpful in lacing up the boots in the morning.4. Bottom tread - it looks good, it feels good underfoot. Time will tell.
Extremely comfortable. I added a gel pad underneath the memory foam like I have for the last 25 years. It makes a difference in any shoe/boot if you have room. These are nice and lightweight. I work 12 hours a day at least 5 days a week on concrete. I also have major back problems. I only had one pair of boots in the last 25 years that were good but of course they discounted them. These are really great. I don’t have the grueling pain that I normally have every night. I would recommend buying these boots. I was able to find a deal on here where they were $35. Incredible deal! I have paid $185 for boots that promised to be the best ever but they were absolutely not. These are exactly what I needed. But!!! Let’s see how they hold up long term.
