Say hello and sail away with our much-loved boat-sneaker combo In 1949, PRO-Keds was established by Keds as an athletic footwear line primarily aimed at basketball. Originally released as the "Royal Tread," the first PRO-Keds product was the classic Royal, a canvas basketball shoe in high and low tops featuring a distinctive red and blue power stripe adjacent to the toe. It was worn and endorsed by the Minneapolis Lakers, the first NBA Champions who won five consecutive titles in PRO-Keds. Over time, new styles were added across the categories of baseball, football, tennis, and track and field. Materials utilizing exclusive shock-absorbent support and cushioning techniques were developed to keep pace with the rapid advancements in footwear technology. The Royal was the market leader in performance basketball through the '70s, gracing the feet of famous NBA stars including Willis Reed, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and "Pistol" Pete Maravich. By the Late '70s, PRO-Keds had become synonymous with some of the biggest personalities in basketball history and professional sports, while attaining cult status as the first real sneaker with style among New York City's early hip hop community. The '90s saw PRO-Keds flourish in Japan, where the tennis shoe, the Court King, was re- worked in vibrant toe cap colors, special materials and limited edition prints. Many of these items are highly sought after by collectors. Today, PRO-Keds has reissued the classic Royal Canvas, the Court King and the historic Royal Master basketball shoe. Stocked by leading shoe retailers across the world, PRO-Keds will progressively release authentic sports originals.

Throw away your White New Balance Sneakers ! These are what you need. These sneakers + A Dad Bod will have girls half your age taking a second look when you walk in your local Moose Club. Forget about those tube socks ,because these babies are made to look like you spend most of your free time aboard a sailboat out on the seas. I like to switch these up with a pair of Sperry Slip ons occasionally for a more sporty look. If you don’t have a problem lying to women you can tell them you live on a yacht. I highly recommend getting a gold chain with the little hot pepper medallion. It’s gives a finished look that says “ I am really into you,but I’m also worried about girls only sleeping with me for my money” look. Also… try saying that out loud to pretty girls as an “ice breaker “You’re welcome.
Having worn deck (boat) shoes all summertime long for every summer since my teens, I was thrilled to try out Sperry's offering--since I can no longer get the cheaper (but will last for years and years, and survived tropical storms in the Keys where tromping through six-inches of water became necessary) Falls Creek brand--because they looked like a proper deck shoe. Once I tried them on, though, I was less than thrilled. They did not feel like a deck shoe should; the fit was too tight for the height and width of my foot, they had a strange elevated aspect to them, and it was awkward and somewhat painful to walk around in them. That was until I pulled out the stock insole to find that the heel was raised substantially and the front part of the insole was overly thick--making the overall thickness way too much. Once I replaced that painful sucker with a flat set of Odor Eaters, these fit great and now have the proper deck shoe feel: as if you are walking around on bare feet without having to walk around on bare feet. I now love them, and am using my own idea of a modified fishtail knot for the notoriously difficult to keep tied leather laces. The only reason these are not a full 5 stars is that ridiculously designed stock insole. The comfort in wearing a deck shoe comes from its state of flatness, not from some overly-designed insole. So do yourself a favor, and rip that sucker out.
Bought these for around the house/yard shoes, had never heard of hemp shoes. As good as the canvas shoes I normally buy.
