Bought for my husband,Although he wanted me to buy a size larger (and i did) these run true to size. The met guard has saved him form food injuries many times in the short time that he has owned his boots. The only downside is their weight. These boots are heavy and if you are not accustomed to wearing real workboots not the 25$ jobbies from Walmart you will be feeling their weight in your legs for a few weeks
I purchased my first pair a few years ago and they saw a lot of use. I spend a lot of time in manufacturing facilities and purchased the metguard because its required in some of the facilities I go to. I've owned a few different brands with metguards and I have to say that these are the most comfortable and unobtrusive so far. My first pair were weathering just fine, having only the laces and insole replaced, and I'd still be using them. However, I left them in a rental car (from a well known company that may share its namesake with a fictional starship). I called to see if they had found them but, alas, they had not. Even though they say that they "thoroughly clean" the car before every rental, the car went out twice after me and the boots mysteriously disappeared. I'd like to believe that whoever "didn't find them" is thoroughly enjoying them as much as I did. I digress. I crouch a lot to get into control panels and they don't dig into my metatarsal bones. They have pretty decent grip and I have tested them on many surface types including fry oil, ice, and stuff I'd rather not describe. The fit was exactly what I expected and true between the 2 pairs I've had. I've spent long hours in them (20+ hour shifts) and they are the least of my problems. I recommend.
These aren’t extremely durable but they aren’t bad.The leather on the toes are usually the first thing to go. I weld in a shop and outside totaling about 50-70 hours a week and these boots last 6 months… If you catch these on sale for $109-$150, you can buy 2 pair for the price of 1 higher end pair! For lace up, met guard boots, less than $200 is awesome. I’m going to try and spray some bed liner on the toes of a new pair and see how they hold up.
Perfect fit. My husband said there is nothing like a new pair of boots that fit perfectly!
Good product.
Boots fit well and the metguard is much better than some other boots. Lasted around 6 months before the steel toes were showing through.
Machine shop.
Very nice boots but they are very heavy and difficult to break in
