Here's the skinny, I really wanted the shoes. Now here's the story: Purchased these in size 11D (M) which is my normal size. My shoes arrived in an empty box instead of an Allen Edmonds box. However, it was printed on the inside lid of the box that the original box had been damaged in transit. There was nothing inside of the box to stop the shoes from sliding around inside. The Allen Edmonds shoe bag was also absent.I inspected the shoes very closely, and as far as I can tell, they were not used or seconds. They were not damaged or scuffed-up. The shoes had not been worn, so they were in fact new. The shoes did have the original shoe stuffing paper inside that had not been disturbed.The shoes are well built using quality materials. The shoes fit perfectly, and break-in may take a couple or few days. I like everything about this shoe, especially the fact that it is plain; just plain. These can be worn with practically anything. For the most part, I am happy with the shoe itself, but I definitely wasn't crazy about the packaging situation. If a different box needs to be used, the shoes should at least be packaged securely inside of the new box. I also understand that the original box was damaged in transit, was the storage bag damaged as well?I would definitely recommend the shoes themselves, provided they are packaged in their original packaging or repackaged with care, but I advise buyers discretion if you received the shoes in the same fashion as I did. I took a star for repackaging attempt, shoes in a large box and unsecured. I decided to keep the shoes because they were new, not damaged, scratched or scuffed. I have already inserted their cedar shoe trees. Truly a shoe that will never go out of style, unlike designer shoes.
