Call it Spring is an imprint of Canadian shoemaker Aldo, focused on affordable and environmentally conscientious footwear. Their shoes are all vegan (e.g. no leather), and they also choose alternative materials that are PVC-free. Another focus of the product line is high quality foam insoles made from recycled mattresses. While they're primarily a Canadian brand, they've recently started expanding into the US market, and I'm glad they have - these are super nice shoes at a very reasonable price.I really, really dislike wearing most dress shoes - I find them uncomfortable and stodgy - but you can't really pull off sneakers with a suit, and sometimes the situation calls for something a little more fashion forward. These are a great wardrobe staple because they're a simple black leatherette shoe in a classic shape. The toes on these are very pointy, which is a personal preference thing - I prefer a more squared off, shorter appearance because I have larger feet, but folks with smaller feet might prefer these to give their shoes a bit more volume and balance. There's no wrong answer, and I still think I look pretty good in these.I'm pleased to report the foam insoles really work. I find these comfortable to wear and walk in, which is an absolute revelation for formal shoes for me - they're not sneakers by any means, but I could make it through an entire workday in these, which isn't always a given.I think my favorite part is the inclusion of two different shoelace sets. There is a classic black set, but they also come pre-laced with bright red shoelaces that I really dig - it freshens up the look of the shoes and gives you the flexibility to make a bit of a statement with them if you're so inclined. I think it's a really thoughtful bonus.Whether or not you're looking for vegan shoes, I think these deserve serious consideration. Backed by a major, well respected footwear maker, these are a high quality product at a very fair and affordable price, and I wouldn't hesitate to consider other Call it Spring shoes in the future.

These shoes look great and feel very comfortable. They fit just right and had no smells when opened.

These are very narrow shoes. Not helpful for someone like me who has pretty wide feet. I got size 12s and I'm usually a 11.5 wide/extra wide and these are pretty uncomfortable.The shoes themselves seem to be very high quality and nice that they come with two pairs of laces. But, I won't wear them except occasionally because of how thin they are. I think they also look a bit odd, but probably not my style for them to be so long and narrow.The color on them is nice and they do look like a nice dress shoe. But overall, not a fan of the look or fit.

I end up attending a fair number of formal and semi-formal events each year for my job that also require me to be on my feet all day, so having comfortable dress shoes is a must.These are an affordable, non-leather option that look great and are comfortable to wear. I ordered my regular size in dress shoes and they fit perfectly.The style and shape is a bit more modern, with a more pointed toe, so if you're used to the 'squared-off' style that might throw you, but personally I find they look much more fashionable and less clunky than many other shoes I see guys wearing.The faux leather appears to be good (enough) quality, and is visually indistinguishable from real leather, even up close. The additional styling details are tasteful and not distracting.Of course, the reason leather has been the preferred material of choice for footwear since forever is because of how it wears and it's durability, and my issue with other non-leather shoes in the past has always been that they tend to have a finite lifespan, after which the material degrades to a point where they don't look good any more.Time will tell. At this price, I don't expect to hand these down to my grandchildren, and I'll be happy if I get even a full working season out of them. If I encounter any issues with materials or durability I will update this review accordingly.

These shoes are a nice departure from the typical black dress shoe, especially for summer. Goes well with lighter color neutral outfits and are very comfortable.

These stunning dress shoes fit perfectly. I ordered my usual size. The quality is excellent. The shoes are well made. The color is rich and the shoes have a shiny surface.

I'm assuming vegan leather is just faux leather. I guess it's a way to advertise it to animal conscious people. I'm not a vegan. I don't care that it's not real leather, but I don't care that it's vegan either. It's shiny and black. I'm not crazy about the shape. The toe is just so long and oddly shaped. I like more symmetry. To each their own. So this is not my style. The shoe itself is made well. Color is nice. The shape is not for me. I'm sure other people like it. Comes with 2 sets of shoe strings. Red and black. It's surprisingly comfortable though.

These are such nice dress shoes! I was thrilled when they arrived because I love Call It Spring for my closet, now my husband can get in on it too. They're very comparable to his Aldo dress shoes with a much more friendly price tag.
