This E Series jazz shoe from Capezio features a soft and flexible leather upper that molds perfectly to your little one's foot. The split sole is textured for full traction and offers a free-floating arch that's easier to point in. Its lace-up front keeps the perfect snug fit. Salvatore Capezio was born in 1871 in Muro Lucano, Italy. Uninterested in following in his father's footsteps as a construction engineer, he became an artist of his own right, a cobbler. In 1887, at the age of 17, he opened his shop on Broadway and 39th Street, diagonally across from the old Metropolitan Opera House in New York City. Soon, the shop became a meeting place for dancers who would stop by to discuss their needs and to get a pair of his shoes. As Capezio's popularity grew, dancers from around the world made it a point to visit him and purchase his shoes. The innovation of the products that Salvatore Capezio created and the camaraderie he shared with the dancers molded the direction that his company would follow. In this image, the Capezio brand was established to promote and recognize ongoing achievements and participation in dance. Capezio products remain in the forefront in quality and in technological advances with innovations like the split-sole, the stretch-insert, the Dansneaker and the Tapsneaker. Capezio believes that their success is dependent upon the individual commitment of each customer to continually set new standards of creativity and performance, while preserving a reputation for dependability and distinction. Capezio pledges their support and dedication to the advancement of dance, theater and recreation in communities worldwide.

These are a great quality shoe. My daughter says they are comfortable and let her move freely. We measured her foot length (stand on a piece of paper with even weight distribution, mark heel and longest toe, then measure a straight line between the two) and ordered the size indicated by that length in the size chart. Based on other reviews, we also ordered a half size up. However, the original measurement size fit her perfectly. She has just a bit of room in the toe to make these shoes last the season, but not too much room to make them too big. The half size up was too roomy and would probably give her blisters. All in all, we are happy with this purchase!
I ordered these for my 5 year old grand-daughter. There is only one place locally to buy jazz shoes and the sizes start at 12. She is a 10 1/2 in regular shoes with a roomy fit in most cases. I bought size 12's at the local store because a lot of places say order a size or two up for jazz shoes. They were huge, so they were returned. That is why I initially ordered 10 1/2M Capezio's from Amazon. They fit (she has a narrow foot) but her toes were at the end. So they are going back for an 11M. The quality of the shoe looks fine, and they appear to be soft, flexible, and comfortable.
These were definitely too small for my daughter. She has wide feet but even in length they were pretty short. I would go up a couple sizes
When ordering - order a much larger size. My daughter is a size 12 kids so I ordered a 12.5 due to the reviews and that was still too small. The 13.5 size arrived and they fit much better. Very easy return and reordering process hence the 5 stars. Product is very nice and made well.
My child wears a 13 in all her dance shoes and yet the jazz Capezio shoes were way too small. Because I was out of town, I couldn't return them in the 30 day window so now I am just stuck with shoes that do not fit.
My son really likes these shoes. We knew they would run small, so we went 2 sizes too big, and it ended up being just a tiny bit big on him. That's what we were looking for so he can grow into them. They are high quality and comfortable. They are also a very good price for their high quality.
Was looking for an inexpensive 'starter' shoe for my 5.5-year old and this was just the right price. Was a little worried about size as I was ordering online and when it did first arrive (international mail) it looked rather small. Turned out it was the perfect size, once my son tried it on. He has a pair of Sacouny Australian 10M and using this, measuring the length of his feet and the sizing chart provided by Capezio - we got a perfect USA 12M size.
This are great jazz shoes, my 3yr old has problems finding shoes that fit comfortably, she's a little wide on the top area, and this are very comfortable and easy to get on!
