The Flex Master Tap shoe will be music to your little one's ear. This novice-minded dance shoe from legendary shoe maker Capezio features a sturdy toe box and split-sole profile, including taps specially designed to produce a deep, resonating tap, which is sure to motivate and thrill your little performer. A flexible leather upper is lined for comfort and breathability, while its lace-up style is a cinch to adjust, even for little hands. Salvatore Capezio was born in 1871 in Muro Lucano, Italy. Uninterested in following in his father's footsteps as a construction engineer, he became an artist of his own right, a cobbler. In 1887, at the age of 17, he opened his shop on Broadway and 39th Street, diagonally across from the old Metropolitan Opera House in New York City. Soon, the shop became a meeting place for dancers who would stop by to discuss their needs and to get a pair of his shoes. As Capezio's popularity grew, dancers from around the world made it a point to visit him and purchase his shoes. The innovation of the products that Salvatore Capezio created and the camaraderie he shared with the dancers molded the direction that his company would follow. In this image, the Capezio brand was established to promote and recognize ongoing achievements and participation in dance. Capezio products remain in the forefront in quality and in technological advances with innovations like the split-sole, the stretch-insert, the Dansneaker and the Tapsneaker. Capezio believes that their success is dependent upon the individual commitment of each customer to continually set new standards of creativity and performance, while preserving a reputation for dependability and distinction. Capezio pledges their support and dedication to the advancement of dance, theater and recreation in communities worldwide.

These shoes run two full sizes too small. My daughter wears a 13.5 and the 2.5 fits her perfectly. (Luckily we were able to try these on in a dance store first and saw first hand how tiny these shoes are. As soon as you go to the adult sizes (Capezio CG16) they run true to size. There is a huge gap from the kids 2.5 to the adult size 4 so we will have to find a different shoe style next time until she can fit in an adult size 4!) Other than the sizing issues, these shoes are great quality and my daughter loves the flexibility for some of her more complex tap moves!
I read reviews to order a size to a size and a half up, because the shoes run very small. I ordered 2 sizes up from his normal size 8 Walmart shoe. I did not see the sizing chart when I ordered these shoes, only after I ordered them did I find the sizing chart. His foot measures just under 6.5", so I should have ordered an 11.5 little kid. Or larger, these size 10 wide are smaller than his size 8 sneaker. I also wondered if his foot would fit in the larger shoe, they are so narrow. I intend to return these and figure something else out.
The shoe seems extremely nice, however EXTREMELY small!!! I ordered two pair of 11.5 little kids- onein this Flex style and one in the Tip Tap Toe to see which I would like best (we were coming out of a 10.5 Tip Tap Toe). If I were to post photos, it would look just like the other posted pictures- at least an inch smaller of the same size. Our 10.5 from last season are bigger than the 11.5 Flex. Glad I ordered two so at least one will work. Love the return policy of not even needing a package though!
Runs very small...went up 1.5 sizes from a 13 to 1.5 to get it on her foot. Other than the sizing, this is a beautiful and flexible children's tap shoe. Fits like a ballet shoe with taps...highly recommend.
I purchased a 10w thinking they would be a kids size 10 but wide. They came and are way too small. I guess the sizing isn't a normal shoe size for these. They seem to be good quality however I did feel that the heel was a little higher than other tap shoes I have found. Still rating highly since they appear to be good quality however don't be like me - read about the sizing!
These would have been great tap shoes, if only my daughter could get her foot into it.I just assumed the negative reviews about size were wrong, because it’s not like this is some no-name brand. It’s Capezio! But, they are both too small AND too narrow. Disappointed. They also seem to run up to a size (on paper) that would be worn by a 3rd or 4th grader. However, the style of shoe is such that a 3rd or 4th grader is about the youngest that I think would even tend to wear this type of tap… unless you really have a young competitive tapper. I’ve always seen little tappers in the cute and usually much less expensive Mary Janes. It was only when my daughter started to level up in tap that she was told she needs the shoe style. So, be aware!
These run small. I had already done research on these so I knew to size up. I would suggest sizing up about 1.5- 2 sizes. They are awesome tap shoes!
I ordered a size 12 for my 5 year old daughter. Her size 12 black Bloch fit beautifully as the capezios were supposed to be for getting her toe stands better and upcoming competition. Way too small. I will be sticking to Bloch brand. I found a flexible shoe made by them.
