Bought these for service plumbing work at a university. The steel toe was hard for my feet to get used to (I should’ve bought a wider size) but once broken in it was quite nice. Shoe is tight and supportive in the way a boot should be but doesn’t look bulky and overbearing. Comfortable fit once broken in and stylish boot as well. I might recommend getting the soft toe if you’re not sure that you need it. The waterproofing on this shoe is ridiculous! I love it! I can stand in a shower with the water pouring on my feet and walk out and wipe them off and back to a normal day. Best feature I didn’t know I needed.
These boots are so comfortable. I will say they do rub a little around my shins if I’ve worn them for a few hours but I may have had them a little too tight. But I still really like them. They are true to size.
I just moved to Seattle and needed something waterproof. I ordered Thorogood boots and was so disappointed. I sent them right back. Terrible fit. Super narrow. These had some mixed reviews online but for the price I figured I’d go for it. Very very happy with these Carhartt boots. Very comfy right out of the box. Waterproof as stated. They look sharp. I have wide feet and these boots are perfect. My wife liked them so much on me she had me order some for my son to wear to school. He picked the black soft toes. I have the brown steel toes. I water treated them. (The pics is before the treatment and have they original color) They have a rich brown color now. They look more like the redwing Briar tone. I swapped out the laces for black ones. I would highly recommend. I even ordered the 4” versions from them as a more casual option. I would prefer silver eyelets but that’s getting picky. Added a second pic with waterproof treatment applied. Breaking in nicely less than a week.

Great boots
These boots are the most uncomfortable boots I have ever worn, and I am on my feet for 12 hours a day, so I absolutely do not recommend these for a work boot. My feet ache so bad to the point I have to sit down and take a break.

I never use the feature but decided to do the prime Try-before-you-buy because I didn't want to be stuck with a work boot that didn't meet my needs. I work in a warehouse loading package trucks overnight. I needed something lightweight, waterproof, with toe protection, and high enough to support my (weak) ankles. The day I got them I wore them to work for a 5 hour all on my feet shift; Only mild aching of my toes and heels. Day Two, I felt more pinching in my ankles but never anything I would consider unbearable. At the end of day Three I realized that I didn't feel a thing uncomfortable that day and forgot I was wearing the boots. They don't slow me down and they aren't heavy. I'm 5'10" and they give me extra inches which I love. True to size as the 10 gives me enough toe wiggle room to wear thick socks, 100% wool even, as I work in 30-40° temps daily. I get so many compliments on them, and the men I work with are so impressed that these boots do everything their big, clunky, less sexy boots do.
