These are great work shoes. Light and comfortable with a composite material protective toe. Not a metal toe, but then the shoe is surprisingly light and comfortable to wear for long periods. I tried on a lot of boots before selecting these, and I am very satisfied with the choice. One thing: For some reason, the description of the shoe, if you select the gray/black coloration, is described as a "running shoe". Don't get that at all.... this is a work shoe, light weight, but a work shoe ntl. Of course, selecting the gray/black color scheme also generated a price-savings of fully $45, which I happily took.
Wore them for quite a few shifts now and they're very comfortable. Though I ordered the wide size, they really don't feel that wide or loose and the composite toe fit is perfect. Having that protection for your toes is a big plus and doesn't even feel like is there. They're not waterproof but your feet don't immediately get wet either.
well built and always passes our ESD test. Fine walking but my feet get a little sore after standing on concrete over 8 hours but still better than most other ESD shoes I have had. This is the 3rd pair I have purchased and most likely order them again if they are still available next time I need shoes.
Dislike there no metal or plastic ilets for laces ripped though material when pulling laces tight. Other than that had them for 1 year 12 hour shifts on my feet all day with gear on. they are comfortable get your normal size they fit fine. A friend accidentally ordered the wrong size sent them back got right size that week no problems. I have to go through security every day these do not go off in metal detectors. They are very breathable, but suck in the winter my feet were so cold other than that good shoe just needs extra stitching for laces not to eat though the material when pulling tight. also laces un lase alot you have to double knot them nk big deal.
For electronic shop needs, I use this Cat shoe for ESD work shop. It passed the electrostatic dissipative test. This means that this shoe can be useful while working on electronic circuits. (Cat always good) I ordered 1 size bigger and got 1.5 size small approx. So, for me, I wear 11 but I ordered 12, I may ordered 12.5 would known before. Think about +1.5 size for the comfort.
These shoes tend to feel too small to me in the width department. Length feels fine. I originally tried on a regular and couldn't get my feet in to them. I then ordered a wide version and they do fit better, but I have to wear a thin dress type sock with them. Anything thicker and I feel like my feet are suffocating. What I do love about these shoes is they are very light compared to many other shoes and boots I've worn. I feel if they were a little bit wider, I would absolutely love them, but I already have the widest they make. I also like the look and the styling of them. What I don't like is what I stated above, they seem too narrow, even the wide versons. Also, they state they are a slip resistant sole. Compared to a many other pairs of shoes and boots I've worn over the past 30 years in my profession, they fail in that category. I work on military aircraft so I am always walking on hydraulic fluid, oils, grease, and jet fuel and I would claim they are not very slip resistant. Now, my biggest complaint with my pair of these shoes in the composite toe in my left shoe. It feels like when it was manufactured it was installed cocked or something. It crowds my big toe and makes the shoe uncomfortable to wear. I would have sent them back because of it, but at the time I really needed a new pair of shoes for work. Ironically, because I was wearing a pair of Keens and they were the opposite and crowding my pinky toe so much so it created a sore to the point I couldn't wear them any more. The Keens and these Cats are the only two pairs that I have ever had that have created this type of problem. But I do still like these shoes. Would I buy again, I don't know. They are holding up good so far, I've had them for about 4 months. If you buy them, it would be better to buy in a store so you can try them on, but the prices are way better on Amazon. I paid around $66 for them here, but my local Sears were selling these for over $120. Hope this helps some.
The shoes are great for work. Like wearing safety tennis shoes.
I've had a chance to wear these boots for a few months and am surprised my feet haven't fallen off. The boots are EXTREMELY uncomfortable. CAT engines are made to last and great but this boot is heinous. They are poorly made and the steel toe makes it worse. My poor toes, and heels. I am considering taking a loss and just throwing them out.
