Had to exchange for half-a-size smaller, however they are very comfortable and stylish! I wear these to work at the airport and they save me time at TSA, as they do not beep going through the metal detector! Love them!
I liked these shoes because they were simple, and simple is what I need. I've also purchased these shoes for my kids for school and Naval Sea Cadets because there were comfortable for standing long periods at a time and cheap enough for me to afford two more pairs. There's nothing that I don't like about them so far. If there was there will be an update to this review.
These shoes are well worth the price and great when high quality is not necessary. Great for everyday use, but don't expect more than 6 months use if you're heavy, walk on concrete, or go in/out in rain and snow. If yours do hold up, you will want to buy a new insert as they tend to wear, and the shoes need to be aired out and sanitized every few months as they are not leather and do tend to keep odor more than leather lined shoes.
I'm a repeat client. I've owned a pair in black for that I wear occasionally. After 5+ years, the glue on the soles finally gave out and I threw them away since they are not repairable with rubber soles. I purchased another black pair that fit exactly like the old pair, comfortable, dressy, and nice-looking.The newest pair are brown and just as comfortable. However, they feel just a bit tight, so I wear them with thinner socks to solve that problem. I'll buy them again when they fall apart again in five years.
These are the most comfortable shoes I own, with the exception of a pair of well-worn sneakers. I wear them all of the time, even in bad weather, so they only last for a few years. However, they are priced so well on Amazon, that i can afford to replace them every two years. The most recent order did not start out very well. When i received them, I opened the box and found two "left" shoes. While my wife may say that I have "two left feet", i really don't. So, I contacted Amazon and they shipped a new pair "Next Day Air", at their expense. I have had the correct shoes now for several days and love them. While the leather was a little stiff the first day or two, they are now as comfortable as the last pair. You can't go wrong if you order these shoes.
Used to love Deer Stags; have a pair of real leather hiking boots I bought from them ten years ago that are still powering on, and have been buying these Oxfords in black and brown for the same ten years, putting a ton of wear into each before happily replacing them. No longer. Unfortunately, they have ceased making these out of leather and instead use a plastic shell to which a thin film of "leather" has been glued- think leather leaf, not leather. This means they are stiff, scuff and scratch easily (peeling the "leather" off), and eventually cracks appear on the front of the shoes. The soles remain comfortable to walk in- which remain true even with the otherwise much reduced quality--but the stiff plastic shell terribly chafes one's heel. Really wish they sold the old type, but for now this long-time customer is going elsewhere (and hoping his old Deer Stags hiking boots hang on.)
The shoes are well constructed, good looking, and comfortable. The only negative is the length of the shoe laces. The shoe laces are 36 inches when they should be around 41 or 42 inches. If you order these shoes you may want to also order 41 or 42 inch shoe laces. I am thinking because I ordered extra-wide shoes are perhaps the reason 36 inch shoe laces were not long enough. However the manufacturer should have taken that into consideration. The shoe lace issue should not deter anyone from order these shoes.
Good shoe for a good price. This is my third pair. First pair lasted over years with frequent but not everyday use. I wear either 12 or 13, depending upon the style and cut of the shoe. The 12 was a good width, but was just a little short. The 13 is better but just a little long . Still comfortable fit. I guess I needed a 12 & 1/2 ! Satisfied customer.
