I wanted to love these shoes. They look sleek, received several compliments. The fit is perfect and the comfort is outstanding, the best. But one night, I took my shoes off and was getting ready to brush them down when I noticed something real disappointing. The bottom of the sole is starting to separate on both shoes. When I went online to research why this is happening, I noticed a pattern of complaints revolving around ECCO soles splitting or worse.I’ve worn these shoes maybe two dozen times. Mostly indoors. No weathering like rain, snow, etc. Took care of them.I cannot recommend Ecco dress shoes after experiencing this.
My husband hasn't worn them yet, but they are really nice looking & he was happy with his gift. I hope they hold up.

I needed some dress shoes to wear with a black suit for several occasions coming up. I was hoping I could find a shoe that would be stylish enough to wear with a suit and comfortable enough to wear to work every day (to replace the ones I have been wearing for the past 10 years). I tried on a number of different dress shoes and they all felt uncomfortable--too tight and too stiff. So I was initially resigned to having to spend at least a year breaking in a new dress shoe, or buying two shoes, one for dressing up and one for work.But after a long search I found a great online review for the Ecco hybrid plain toe shoe. It was waterproof--which was a plus but not a big deal to me. But it looked different than any of the other dress shoes I'd seen. I was looking forward to finding out what other people thought about them.Surprisingly, there were no reviews listed on the Amazon listing and that worried me. Has no one else bought this shoe? Is it that new? In any case, I took a chance and ordered a pair. Actually, I ordered two pairs. About sizing, I usually wear a 10 1/2 wide so I was disappointed that there were no wide sizes and even more that the size options were 10-101/2 and 11-11 1/2. So, to be safe, I ordered both hoping that one of them would fit.I received the shoes two days ago. I was amazed. They exceeded my fondest hopes. These are possibly the most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever worn. The 10-10 1/2 fit perfectly. Snug but not too tight. The leather was not stiff making them feel already worn in. They have a tall sole which has a very pleasing shock absorbing. effect when you walk. The top of the shoe looks like any other dress shoe so it will work with a suit. And they don't rise up in the back of the heel when I walk the way every other dress shoe I have ever worn does.I enjoyed wearing them so much that I wore them for the entire next day--a Saturday! What a relief. Done looking for a dress shoe and I now have a new work shoe that will be far more comfortable than what I have been wearing for the past 10 years.There are many other less expensive dress shoes. But it would be more expensive to spend less on a dress shoe that just sits in your closet because it is too uncomfortable to wear to work. One of the best purchases I have ever made.
Only had these shoes for 5wks and the soul and the shoe are separating.
