ECCO, a Danish footwear brand founded in 1963 by Karl Toosbuy, began with a simple yet revolutionary idea: creating comfortable shoes that mimicked the barefoot walking experience. Toosbuy believed that shoes shouldn't restrict the natural movement of the foot, and ECCO's commitment to ergonomic design has been at the heart of the brand ever since.
ECCO prioritizes both comfort and style. They utilize innovative technologies and premium materials to create shoes that are anatomically shaped, lightweight, and flexible. ECCO also boasts a keen eye for design, offering a range of styles that are both functional and fashion-forward.
Fit: I wear a size 12US and 46EU. The shoes arrived size 46 and fit perfectly. The Nubuck Leather wears so much better than Leather Suede. I own several pairs of the Ecco shoe brand with hefty soles, but it's so refreshing to wear a pair of thin soled Eccos! This makes this casual shoe way more versatile. It looks good with jeans or a various colored khakis. Nubuck is the leather's exterior, while Suede is the leather's interior... make's it waterproof as well!
I have purchased several different Ecco shoes over the last couple years and these were the worst fitting. Additionally, I was not impressed with the quality of the sole. It was a thin flexible plastic like sole that did not look very durable. To be fair, the leather and the stitching seemed great. However, I've seen better quality from lesser brands such as Clarks, Rockports, etc. These were returned.
