I typically wear 9 extra wide or 4E, for these shoes I got 9.5 wide and it works. No break in time was needed. Looks a bit odd since my feet are wide from the center but not Deal breaker. Very light and comfortable. I walk 2 miles to work and these shoes provided all day comfort.
These shoes have great soles for all weather and very light and comfortable. Full price was steep for me but went on sale in Amazon and got them 50% off. They were brand new and not someone else's rejects.
This was my first purchase of Hush Puppies shoes, never having owned a pair I read some of the reviews. This pair of shoes appeared to fit all the boxes for me. High on my list was it was offered in wide size. I usually wear a size 8.5 wide. I have a wide foot so I always look for this in a shoe. But, right out of the box the shoes looked oddly undersized and not wide at all. I struggled to fit my feet in the shoes. They felt comfortable, they are very light, the upper leather is soft but they didn't feel remotely like a size wide. I checked the box label and the shoes inner label but both said 8.5 W. I considered returning because they felt a little too tight but the shoes are good looking, light, comfortable, and I really didn't want to search again for shoes. I decided against the return and after a couple hours of wear the shoes felt like they broke-in. Luckily, I own a shoe stretcher and decided to use to make sure the shoes are wide enough and after a few hours with the stretcher on both shoes the shoes are now wide enough. So, I'm happy with the buy and the shoes - they go with everything in my wardrobe, very versatile.
Been wearing the shoes for a weeks or so and still love them. Very comfortable shoes. Do run a bit narrow. I sent one pair back and order a wide pair and they are just right. Would recommend them to anyone.
So hard to find nice wide shoes and here they are. Usually 8 1/2 - 9 wide . Happy I wnt with the 9 and the width was fine. Well made and look sharp.
The shoes are very light with thin padded leather uppers. The leather is soft and supple, with an even brown finish. However, it does not have very good arch supports. Out of the box, I found the shoe uncomfortable. After replacing the removable inserts with arch-supported inserts, it made a huge difference. Although I didn't expect this shoe to have as much cushioning as my other thicker-soled shoes, it is still a reasonably comfortable shoe. Although a casual shoe, it is still dressy enough to wear at the office. I recommend this shoe, but not above the $99 price point.
