These are simply great shoes. In fact, I just bought two pairs off Amazon (since stock was low and I wanted to be sure I have a pair for the future when the first pair starts falling apart, as all things experiencing high wear and tear inevitably do in life). These are more lightweight than your typical safety shoe. Most likely this is due to the composite toe (meets my work's "steel toe" requirement but is much more light on the foot). They are also ESD shoes, which stands for "electrostatic discharge". Basically, depending on your work environment, you might likely need steel-toe-type shoes which are also dissipative. For my job, it's important that the shoes I wear in process areas are conductive to allow the flow of electricity through me to the floor (for safety reasons).I also wear these shoes outside of work as they are quite comfortable and fit my feet very well. The Nautilus 1303's have a nice, "non flashy" brown color and great design and grip on the bottom of the shoe. I'm naturally a size ten but the 10.5's I bought off of Amazon (closest to my size that were available) are going to work out just fine, if that helps anyone. Unfortunately my work no longer provides these as an option in the safety-shoe-store, else I'd just get them through a work voucher. Decided to buy these on my own, and likely will use a pair solely for work/process areas and another pair for general life outside of work, hiking, even walking around town.Awesome product...five stars!
I am a heavy equipment operator by trade and it is mandatory safety toe for all. I only buy low composite toe shoes. Never could like cold steel in my shoes.Never heard of Nautilus brand but looking at the limited choice composite toe shoes on Amazon, I saw these, and was sold on their looks. As soon as I tried them on I, knew there was a problem. When placed on my kitchen table the left heel was defective in that the outside of heel was about an 1/4 inch or so off the surface of the table. The shoe would rock and pitch as I walked. So much for the Nautilus Brand -(Made in China)- this good looking shoe is going back !. Hard and cheap outer sole also, sounded like tap shoes !.Keen Utility Work Shoes introduced a new low composite... "Lexington and Albany". At least some Keen shoes are "Made IN USA" Cost a little more but Keen is high quality and one of the best.
These shoes look good and are very comfortable. Can barely tell they are safety shoes. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because I usually wear a 10 1/2 but I had to send them back for 11's because they run a little small.
For the cost, you would expect a decent insole; the one that is provided has to be the absolute bottom of the barrel for insoles like the ones you get at the dollar store. I had to use an additional insole to get the proper comfort.Another problem is sizing...originally ordered a size 10 (have worn a 10 work shoe for years) and it was too small; Nautilus must be using an Asian manufacturer whose sizing standards are not for Americans! Went to a 10.5 and it just fit but was still a bit uncomfortable. I ordered a size 11 to replace the 10.5 and they were perfect. My current rating reflects the size 11 therefore, I would not hesitate to go 1 size larger to get the proper fit.
My favorite feature is how easily the laces smoothly pull tight. When I take these off multiple times a day to come into our home, it's easy to get them back on. They are lightweight and comfortable. My last pair lasted for years, but I am a light-duty user.
My shoe size is 11 US. These were 11.5 US and were tight.
Fit is great with large toe area, and light-weight. It's more comfortable than some regular shoes I just bought. I haven't used it long enough to determine durability.
I owned a pair of these shoes before and they quickly became my favorite pair of work shoes, they lasted me well over a year. They were so nice I decided to buy 2 pair this time! Well after only 3 months they are starting to fall apart especially around the tip of the toe and the inside heal area. Not sure why they are so different from the last pair, but once this second pair wears out in a few months I will not be buying another pair.
