There is no doubt that SaS makes great shoes. I first learned about them from a friend who is diabetic. (And, yes, they are Medicare-approved for Diabetics.) The leather is top quality that's treated to resist water, the soles are the non-slip type, and the quality of workmanship is first-rate. I have high arches and insteps and I particularly like the long lacing area that gives me a secure fit. Also, the fit on my 13W feet is dead on. I've only tried the Guardian and the Move On models. The Move Ons were a disappointment as they are wider than the Guardians and have a small lacing area that doesn't give a very secure fit. We have very hot summers where I live and they are nice for when my feet swell up, but I would not buy them again. You can't go wrong with the Guardians. My only complaint is that they only come in black - they'd look really nice in a chestnut brown. Maybe SaS will do something about that, but it's probably a cost issue. That being said, these rather expensive shoes are so comfortable that, assuming they are durable and last a long time, they are worth every penny.
Great shoe for elderly
Got a new job on my feet allllll day. After first month was in agony at end of the day. Talked to a few nurses i know- all of them said same thing SAS shoes. Got a pair - they ain’t cheap- but worth every penny. From day one, they have made my work days better. On second pair.
I work in busy kitchens on wet and oily tile floors. I'm damn near 300 lbs and have a size 14 extra wide foot. These are the BEST shoes Ive ever run. Nonslip is top tier, even new they're safe. Unlike many kitchen shoes they're actually presentable and you can run in them without them flying off. You'll want to run aftermarket insoles. If you really like your clogs, toss the Birkenstock cork insert in here and your good to go. People say they're expensive, but if you've been in this business any time you know that cheap is really expensive after the third time buying the cheap version. The slipon from these guys is good too but the lace up is a little better if you really gotta boogie.
Purchased these for my grandson. He is over the moon - so happy with fit and quality. Definitely will purchase more shoes for him from this company. For sure: A customer for life. Plus loved the way customers are treated. So nice to see a company do that. All in all - a very happy grandma and grandson.
I work in the restaurant industry and am on my feet 50 hours a week. I have wider than normal feet and have always had struggles with finding shoes that didn't crush my feet. These shoes have a size that fit me perfectly! They are very comfortable, sturdy, and nonslip! If you're looking for something to wear behind the bar or in the kitchen or on the floor, these shoes are a pretty good pick up.
Over the years I have had 5 pairs of different styles of SAS shoes. I’ve tried others but always go back to SAS. Yes, they’re pricey but they last a long time and if you suffer from planter fasciitis BUY these shoes!
Solid and supportive shoe. Shoe is a little heavy for walking. Put in own insole that have more arch support. Unfortunately, the nonslip tread is wearing down already after a couple of months. My job does require lots of walking as well as standing in areas that are greasy and very wet. Great traction, just wish the soles would hold up better. Bought this men’s shoe since they seemed to have a wider base than the women’s to accommodate my extra wide foot. Hope they will last at least a year since they were so pricey.
