This classic Stacy Adams Madison design is a stylish step back in time, but it comes at a steep price. Vintage has its drawbacks. It's a uniquely beautiful boot, but at $135 -- there are a few major problems. First, the Stacy Adams Madison has an odd fit at the ankle and toe. You may need inserts, heel padding, or certain socks to achieve comfort and a solid fit. Secondly, the soles are extremely slick and slippery. You absolutely must have rubber added to the bottom of these boots -- which increases the price. I use Lucky Franc's shoe treads ($15).They say, "style is forever" . . . so while these spat boots come with certain challenges, they're so timelessly beautiful, they're worth every penny.
My original order came with a shoe that looked intentionally crushed. I immediately returned them and placed another order which came from a different supplier. Duane Shoes! You are the best! My shoes were shipped the next day and were delivered earlier than expected. These shoes are very nostalgic looking and quality made.
I’m a size 9.5 so I ordered a 10. They were Tight on my big toe knuckle bone. I really wanted these shoes so I sent them back and got a size 9.5 and I had the same issue. Tight around the toes and hurt both big tow knuckle bones. I wish the had wide sizes in these. They looked good on me too
We ended up having to exchange these three times, sizing down each time. We purchased these for my husband's wedding shoe. Even at the smallest size Amazon sells, they were still too big. My husband has normal Men's feet, so I can assure you, it's the brand. They looked good in photos, but we would never purchase this brand again.
My husband is a standard 7.5 D, and these fit him great. He needed a pair of shoes with built in Spats for historical reproduction events, and wore them for the first time to the Dickens Fair in San Francisco. Next up, the Edwardian Ball. I am considering getting him the brown for the World's Fair. The detail is nicely done and they don't look cheap. All leather and well made to give a true vintage feel. Of course, these are not 100% historically accurate, but they work for him and he loves them. Good for an everyday jazzed up look, too, for the creative and adventurous man who would wear them with jeans, a wallet chain, and James Dean leather jacket, or for the church dude who dresses to the nines in a colorful suit every Sunday.
Fit traction durable hes very happy
