Fits a little loose on me, but that is why I buy the 9.5W. An old injury makes me buy all my shoes a half size too big. These seem to fit a little low around the ankle, but I expected that. It is my first pair of Thorogood shoes and am looking forward to wearing them for duty to break in. They seem to be of a very nice and durable quality.
It is tough to find a low-profile duty shoe that can be polished. This was one of the few options under $100. I had never heard of the brand before, but gave them a shot because the price was good and the style conformed with duty boots. The width is just a bit narrow, and the fit runs just a little small, but nothing major. The shoe looks great but the insoles were ROCK HARD. I replaced the insoles with a pair of Wagreen's work insoles for $15, and now the shoes feel GREAT! They look just like boots when wearing pants, which is what I was looking for during hot summer months.
I bought this work shoe and it's comfortable and lightweight but sturdy enough for the job that I do. I recommend this shoe.
In 21 years of LEO work this was the most horrible shoe I have bought. Every step I would take my heel would pop out of the shoe. I used different lace patterns and different tightness all the way up to nearly cutting off circulation and still could not keep my heel in the shoe. I bought wides and they were the most narrow wide width work shoe I have worn, so narrow they hurt my feet. Thorogood missed the mark on these boots. Thank you Amazon Prime for return label and fast money return.
I needed a shoe for delivering mail because there’s lots of walking involved. Overall, I ended up returning these because the soles feel clunky and heavy. My heel kept sliding out even with laces tied tight.I went for a hiking shoe in my local shoe store instead. My foot rests securely in the other pair I bought and they are more stylish. I don’t think I’m allowed to say which brand. Just don’t overthink the type of shoe you need.
I have ordered this type before and I was alarmed by some of the bad reviews. I wore out my last pair of Thorogood boots so I had to order something. The boots lived a good life and just wore out.I am happy with the quality and they truly are "airport friendly" the key word for "being able to go through a metal detector". I will buy again.
They looked promising but fell apart in 2 weeks of wearing them.
A great shoe for uniform employment. My one and only concern is the stitching on the tongue of the shoe. After a long day on my feet it rubs and I'm forced to loosen them.
