I haven’t found a more comfortable boot. I’ve bought at least 8 or 9 pair of these in the past 15 years. I’ve even bought the low top version.. I’m on my feet with these boots at least 10-12 hrs a day and I can say they are durable and comfy..I always try to like other boots that are lighter, but non of the other brands have the soft leather and ankle support like these. do and trust me I’ve tried on just about everything ou there.. If there is a negative I’d say it would be the weight, but that’s because of the composite toe. They do run a size large. Try them you won’t regret it..
I've only walked around townin these boots so haven't tested the functionality of the reinforced toe box but I'm sure that will come as soon as I start doing lumber work. Leather is supple, width is just enough so that a bit of stretching won't affect the fit, footbed is comfortable. Timberland has come a long way with their boot line and this item is a good addition.
I’ve had these boots for over 3 years now and they’re the best boots I’ve every owned.great slip resistance, oil and water resistant. I’m a welder so the boots strings needed replacing pretty early on with flame retardant strings. They are just starting to come apart in one little spot under the treads on the right boot. Fairly light weight and can handle years of hard abuse….oh and they are as comfortable as the first time putting them on. Very highly recommend.
These boots are instantly comfortable, long lasting, waterproof, and some of my favorite work boots. The only downside is the sole doesn't have the best grip. However the rest of the boots is top notch. Ive been wearing these 25 years! The titanium composite toe is much lighter than steel, and will stop cinderblocks and full boxes of ceramic tiles, and one time a FORKLIFT, WHICH pushed the shield down into the sole, Pinching my toes a bit, but SAVED MY RIGHT FOOT! And the toe remained round,, wasn't crushed.. also, theyre technically not puncture proof but I've stepped on plenty of nails and none made it through. The pebble grain leather is beautiful as well. I truly hope these are not discontinued, because they beat 95% of the boots out there!
I picked up a pair of these work boots 15 years ago at Shoe Carneval and Just recently purchased my seveth pair - this time through Amazon. Two years for a pair of work boots is fantistic in my opinion. They are lightweight, durable and waterproof. I am a warehouse/yard foreman for a construction company, so I put these things through all kinds of abuse and I must say, they hold up exceptionally well. They are extremely comfortable and can be worn all day (sometimes those days are 12 hours) with no fatigue whatsoever. The only issue I have ever had occured about four years ago during the winter when one of the soles split on the side causing a water leak. Shoe Carneval was out of my size so I bought a pair of Red Wing Irish Setters. Big mstake and waste of 189.00. Those dogs were heavy and uncomfortable - I ended up giving them away and thankfully, Shoe Carneval had my size the next week. If you move outside a lot, climb ladders or operate heavy equipment - these are the boots to wear - hands down.
Let me start by saying that these are the first work boots I have ever worn. While I cannot therefore compare them to any other workboots, I can say with confidence that these boots are incredibly comfortable and made the transition from athletic / hiking shoes to work boots hardly noticable. They are not much heaver than my trail running / hiking sneakers. The fit is roomy in the toe box, comfortable but supportive around the heel. They do seem to run a bit long - I ALWAYS wear a size 13 and in these I could have sized down to a 12 (not even a 12.5!). The waterproofing is amazing and I have stood in 6" of water. The non-slip soles just that - they have a very secure footing. And while some people have complained about breathability, I cannot support that complaint. I wear these with regular athletic socks and I do not find them overly hot, nor do I sweat profusely. Do they breathe as well as my asics? No. Do they breath as well as my 5.10 hiking shoes? Absolutely! The biggest thing that took getting used to was the height of the sole/heel. The sole under the toe is about 1.25", and the heel is easily 1.75"! So I still find myself either high stepping when climbing stairs (to be safe), or kicking the front of the stair (when I forget to high step). But that is just a matter of time.If you are looking for a work boot that doesn't have that "clunkiness" that you hear about - these are the ones. Just size down! Seriously.
I have worn this style of work boots for probably 15 years. I still think they are the best
I'm a roofer, and I really wanted these to work for me. The first thing I noticed when I put them on was that they were tight from padding. I think this is so they can form to your foot quickly. After wearing them for a little bit, that calmed down and felt great..... except for the tongue. The tongue is very thick towards the top, and where the top of the tongue meets the lower part, there's a thick "knot" in the seam that pressed against the ball of my ankle. Very painful and I couldn't get past it.Secondly, as mentioned before, I'm a roofer and the hard rubber soles are not good for gripping on shingles. They grip well on normal walking surfaces, though. These boots are very attractive and I really wanted them to work. I've had 2 pairs of Timberland hiking boots that I loved.but wore out. too soon.
