The shoe is comfortable, durable and functional for work and leisure. I used them recently for an overseas travel. The only issue I had while traveling was getting through TSA. I kept getting flagged each time I went through the metal detectors due to the steel toes. I would recommend them
Received on March 14th. Toe box area is a little uncomfortable, meaning that I can feel the steel part if I were to curl my toes in the boots. Great fit. I'm not using the insoles that came with them. Bought orthatics. Will review again in 6 months(to see how they held up) since I purchase new boots twice a year. I am on my feet 8-12 hours a day. Nice style boots.Edit review August 5 2019. Boots are still holding up good. Inside behind the heel seems to be falling apart. Doesn't bother really but I could feel it sometimes. Toe box broke in after a month so no more feeling the steel part.9/10/2020After a year in a half boots held up pretty well. Everybody is different when it comes to wearing these boots. I’m a truck driver (p&d) so I use the right boot to unlock trailer door so that to box is tore up. I expected that. Inside in boot behind ankle tore up after a while of wearing them. Looking for other boots but I might just get these again since I feel that I got my money’s worth.
I have worn Timberland work boots for a few years now. I usually get the Helix or Endurance because they are "anti-fatigue", but I thought I would give these a chance, mainly because they are a little lower cut than the standard 6" boots, because of the mesh material (they looked to be somewhat cooler than the leather boots), and they looked to be a little lighter weight.Overall, these are good quality boots. I have 2 issues with the Mudslinger, which is why I gave them 4 stars instead of 5.First, the toe is a little bit more narrow than what I am used to with the Helix. I wear a wide in boots, and with the Helix, I never feel the safety toe. But it seems with the Mudslinger (these are wide as well) my big toe rubs the steel toe a little.Second, the insoles in these boots are very thin. Not much cushion at all. I was a little disappointed with this. I know I am use to the anti-fatigue style, but I have bought the Titan boots as well (which are not anti-fatigue) and the insoles are much better than these. But, it's nothing some Thorogood gel insoles won't take care of.I do like the boots overall. The mesh material feels good, the lower cut of the boot fits good, the tread of the boot is good, and I do like the scuff guards on the toe and heel of the boot. And surprisingly they are light weight for being an actual "steel toe" instead of composite or titanium.
I have been wearing this particular boot now for 15 years or so now. I will not try any other boot. Hopefully Timberland will keep the mudslinger around and make my size more readily available. I have gottten co workers of mine to try these as well and they love them also.
Steel toed shoes for my husband's work. His review. Comfortable, lightweight, one of the best shoes he has found to walk on concrete with. Definitely recommend.
I've had a few pairs of the Timberland Classic 6" Waterproof boot, and decided to change things up by switching to these. VERY HAPPY that I did. Much more comfortable than the Classic (and I love the Classic). Very light in weight on the feet. I typically order size 12 D(M) in Merrell's, but after reading the reviews that the boot runs narrow, I ordered size 12 2E(W) for these. Glad I did! I was worried it would look like I had Clown Feet, but that is not an issue. I also ordered the Timberland PRO Men's Anti Fatigue Technology Replacement Insole. Not sure the replacement insole is necessary even though the original insole is your standard thin padding. Boot sole is much more forgiving than the Classic so you don't feel your feet are getting pounded with either insole. You definitely have to remove the original insole to fit the Timberland PRO Men's Anti Fatigue Technology Replacement Insole. So far, so good with wear and tear. Good looking boot. Again, don't hesitate to go wide if you have the slightest doubt about width.
I have skinny feet so the medium size fits great. If you cant say for sure that you have skinny feet get the wide size.I love the shoe. Comfortable and stylish. I didnt get them for work i like the style. They seem very well built! I did add some dr scholl's cushions in but i do that with all my shoes. If i had one critique i would say i wish the tongue was just a little longer to get it more above the shoe strings but thats minor. Great shoe!
So far so good comfort and a great look!
