I’ve had these boots before, lasted me almost 2 years out in the construction world. Well made, lightweight, and comfortable. You almost forget you are wearing a composite toe! I wear a size 10. and went with a wide width this time due to a foot condition. As you see in the pic, their wide is not huge, and it does not gap or slide. These boots come already waterproof but I always slap some Mink oil on them anyways. They are already soft leather and bend easier brand new, more than other brands do.Perfect for long days on your feet! Great insole cushioning.
I recently changed jobs and I’m now required to wear safety boots. After hearing horror stories about comfort level of safety shoes, I was shocked at how comfortable these boots are! I wear them almost every day and these are the most comfortable boot I’ve ever owned. I’m not dying to remove my shoes when I get home. They grip nicely on wet wood and in slippery mud. Extra bonus is they are easy to clean and mud doesn’t seem to stick on the bottom like most boots. I will definitely buy Wolverine again!
Boot is good, somewhat durable. Have not had a full year and. Rubber around toe is starting to pull away from leather. I prefer the durability and comfort of CAT boots to these. CAT is the same price but better cushioning for all day use better slip resistance and overall durability.
Perfect fit in every way. Super comfortable for outside hard labor or for just going on a hike. Try a pair you won’t regret it!
I had quite a few requirements to meet for my work uniform. Black, non-fabric, non-athletic, high traction sole, preferred toe protection, and preferably appears to be a "polishable black shoe" under my black slacks. I do a lot of kneeling, crouching, and moving heavy storage racks while working with retail stock. The toe needs to stand up to some brutal wear, and so far so good. The toe box pinches when I kneel down and the ankle support rubs me raw, but I suspect that I just need to wear thicker boot socks while I wear these and I should probably dedicate more time to breaking-in. The leather buckles strangely across the top as I walk (maybe the leather needs some conditioning) and the shoe is rather wide and "clown-like" and I felt awkward walking in them at first. The shoe is not too wide on the inside, but rather wide across the sole and I had a few moments where my left foot was hitting both my brake pedal and my clutch pedal in my car, but this is a work shoe so I am completely ignoring my "cosmetic" grievances for this review. So far, this shoe is EXACTLY what I needed. Ankle support is superb, arch support is non-existent in the insole so if you're like me you will need to put in your own insert (there is plenty of room). I am between 8.5 and 9, and this time I ordered the smaller size; my toe comes really close to touching the front but the shoe fits. It does feel a bit roomy in the width but with thick socks this problem is naught. If I had ordered a 9 I'm sure that the shoe would have been too wide.
I've owned wolverine brand boots for work before and I love the light weight and quality of their products. However when I received these boots, one of them had a VERY used gel insert inside of it. The boots themselves seem brand new, but this is disgusting. Good reminder than when you buy "new" rather than "used", it doesn't always mean new.
THE FIT: runs small because of the composite toe; a 7 1/2 is my "perfect" fit and 7 1/2 in these boots was too small with my toes touching so I had to get an 8 which is now much too big. If they would account for the composite toe and made the sizes true after the toe it would be perfect.COMFORT: without any additional support, these boots are only comfortable for a few hours. After 4 hours they are no longer comfortable. I have to be on my feet, walking and standing, for the better part of the day and I have to have a composite safety toe, so I need these to be comfortable. To accomplish that I purchased a pair Dr. Scholl's Custom Fit Orthotics at Walmart for all of my boots and now I can go all day in these boots without foot fatigue.WIDTH: no issues, fit is as expected.ARCH SUPPORT: same statement as the "Comfort", without any additional support the arch support of these boots is poor. Add the Dr. Scholl's and I go wear these all day without foot fatigue. All in all, I will be looking for a better boot. Women's Safety boots with a COMPOSITE toe are hard to come by so I'll probably just switch to men's boots. I don't mind having to get inserts for the boots but the sizing is really a big issue. I'm not wearing the right size because they're sizing for a regular boot and then adding the toe instead of making the boot just a little bigger so the size is a true fit. As for the "safety", the composite toe protects. Haven't any issues with that yet. And at my workplace, these boots WILL pass the metal detector.
These are very nice and comfortable work boots. I usually wear a size 7 1/2 shoe so I bought an 8 so I would have room to wear thicker socks. They fit exactly like I thought they would which is perfect for winter work outdoors.
