I never pay this much for boots but after getting these I did not care about the price any longer and bought 3 more pairs. My feet are so DRY and WARM for such a snug fitting boot, my feet just slid right in. Great design and incredible detail in the craftsmen-ship and! VERY, VERY Impressed with these boots and they look good too for "rain boots". I'll wear these in the Spring and Fall when riding my Harley. They look like riding boots but feel 400% better. Steel toe is great for ass-kickin too. 100% water proof AND Snake proof also (I have a test kit, they passed) IN LOVE WITH THESE, TOO BAD I CAN WEAR THEM IN BED, LOL!
My husband is a sonic driller. He despises the cold and for his current hitch he's stuck in the cold/wet weather. After hearing countless complaints about how he hated his soggy boots, I looked into getting him muck boots. These are it guys! He's as happy as his dry feet haha. Another one of his co-workers has the same boots and he loves them too. The way these guys go through boots I'm not even looking at longevity. Be nice but let's be real, the abuse their feet deal with, boots just don't last. However, comfort and staying dry for that time being... That's what he's looking for and he's very happy with these boots! I haven't heard any complaints since. Happy spouse, happy house :)
Solid boot with great traction and decent (surprisingly) ankle support. The hiking-boot like tread provides great traction on all surfaces and good shank support just like a good hiking boot. With good insoles, these can be comfortable for a full day on your feet. These boots do not breathe very well and the neoprene really keeps in heat, so they are uncomfortably hot in temperatures over 65F for me. Conversely, they are quite warm down to about 40F, even with the steel toes. I use these for outdoor work in Alaska and they are fairly well suited for spring/summer/fall temperatures, but they would be miserable in a hotter climate.downsides are that they are fairly heavy, the neoprene tears or nicks easily, and they are hot. However, I have tried many different steel-toed rubber boots and these are some of my favorites so far; LaCrosse brand boots always seemed to rip over the toes or the soles would wear out before the rest of the boot.
I bought these boots as a Christmas gift for my son, he loves the boots and wears them almost every day. He works construction and within a month there was a tear in the toe line. Wondering if these are replaceable under warranty
My husband needs these boots for daily chores, but they just wear out and start leaking so fast. We have had to order 2 pair in less than one year. He wears them maybe an hour or so a day. That makes these extremely expensive, especially since they just do not seem to hold up. We have tried these several times, and it is always disappointing when they wear out and leak so soon. We won't buy them again.
So far so good, heavy constructed work boot. Well made.
Update!! 8/1/15So i've worn these boots going on 2wks my work requires that i'm in and out of wet spaces quite often while working as boat electrician. Since my last post my BOGS are NO longer WATERPROOF I have thoroughly inspected my sole for puncture marks without finding any. I thought that maybe my foot (left) was sweating more than the right idk but it progressively got worse. I submerged the boot in a bucket of water and notice along the inside arch inseam were bubbles coming out when i applied pressure as if to walk. I don't know how long it has been defective because it wasn't until recently that i stayed in with boots fully submerged in water to notice. Since this discovery I am changing my review to 2 star. I will update when i hear from company on warranty or replacement, which really does me no good right now being that i'm in the Bearing Sea!I've had these boots for a little over a week while working as an Electrician in Alaska on a fishing boat and they stand up to the beating i've put them through so far. If you purchase these (bogs) know that they are not lightweight they're pretty heavy compared to your regular boot which may take time to get use to, and they tend to irritate my shins if walking constantly throughout the day whether your roll down the boot sleeve or not. I would say however that these are definitely worth the price and even with those 2 complaints i would purchase again. They are made tough especially if your in a wet construction site or marine vessel they're steel toe and have a thick sole that works pretty good. All in all I would recommend this boot you can't beat the price (90$) in store they're 140$, I hope this was an helpful to you
I am 5'4" 115lbs and usually wear a size 6.5 women's. I got these in size 5 men's and they fit well in the foot, with great arch and ankle support for a slide on boot. If I wear super thick socks they feel tight, but the boot is warm enough to wear regular socks in the winter or working in a fridge. The calf is too wide to wear my pants over my boots, which would have been the safer option in my line of work (regular hot liquid and chemical handling) but tucking pants into boots is comfortable. Very short break in time. I'm 1 month into near daily use (brewing/beer production work) and there's no sign of wear or weak points forming.Bonus points for this boot coming in a size 4 men's for those who struggle to find safe work wear in women's sizes. Go bogs! You didn't even shrink and pink it!!
