ASICS Men's Gel-Kayano 25 NYC Running Shoes, 11, Black/Black

Asics Gel-Kayano looks great and is the only brand/product that I comfortably can say fit my feet perfectly every time and and let me run without any of my feet start aching. Technically Asics Gel-Kayano is a great running shoe, fits the feet well, gives great support to your feet when running and the "gel" technology protects the knees! Most other shoes from other vendors gives me problems one way or another when running.The only drawback with Asics Gel-Kayano in general (though not with this pair yet) - which to me is an annoying and unnecessary issue but has been consistent over the last five-six years years and my approximately 15th pairs of Asics - is that each Asics Gel-Kayano pair does not look good for long. After relative short period of time (frequently only a month in of using them) a hole will start appearing in the upper part of the shoe covering your toes (hole in the mesh toe cap). I wish Asics would recognize and correct this flaw because the hole in the toe cap look bad in an otherwise almost new shoe (and people who don't have Asics frequently ask what has happened) but it is the same issue every time and has happened to all my previous pairs over the years but it has never happened to any other brand I have used. I have pointed out this issue (flaw) directly to Asics but the refer to warranty and I did send one pair once that I got replaced and they only lasted one month again before it was a new hole in one of shoes again. I had shoes replaced twice but who has time to continuously send the shoes in for warranty replacement only to get a new pair with the same issue? However, even with the holes the shoes can be used (and the only one that I feel comfortable with) but this issue is annoying and the shoes look bad almost immediately (see photo of my previous pair - not the latest).In short the Asics Gel-Kayano is a great running shoe that fits your feet well, providing excellent stability and support for your feet and they are a savior for your knees but don't expect them to look good or last for long.

What a great fit. I have flatter feet and am right on the border of D and EE (for width). Most times D is just a touch too narrow but a EE is too wide even for thicker socks. This is the first time trying the Kayano and I didnt expect them to be any different. I was wrong. A perfect fit. The little bit extra in the toe box is an added bonus. The cushioning caught me by surprise. I knew it felt good, but until I put on my older shoes I didn’t realize just how much. As for the looks.....I didnt want to go dark and am not usually a fan of white color. However, the mix of colors with the white looks very sharp.Now with all this said, I have only walked in them. I have yet to run, but I am now sure they will work well.I may order a second pair just for running indoor while the other can be an all around show. Sure they are not cheap, but many times you need to pay more for what is best for you.

This was the last year of this version of the stability / anti pronation support , and I like it better than the newer models.

I have over pronation, and i browsed a lot for best running shoes and at several places I found Kayano 25 listed, but personally for me it didn't feel too great, the stability wasn't as much as I would expect being called shoe for over pronators. It is for persons who have moderate pronation. Also, the sober color options are very few, they have weird combinations of colors. I went with the light grey one, which was okay. I hope asics come up with other color options. Again a shoe that I could recommend to persons with moderate pronation, but not for overpronation. This is my personal thought. And I returned this shoe not because it was bad, but my preference is different; but still thought to post a review.

The shoes are authentic, exactly as described and priced very well. The last pair of running shoes I bought were the Gel Kayano 21 from a retail store.I was concerned about sizing when ordering online but I placed the order for the Kayano 25 in the same size as my Kayano 21s. I was relieved to find that the sizing was exactly the same so the shoes fit perfectly. Also the feel of the shoe is noticeably better than the older Kayano 21, even without the “Shoe Dog” custom inserts I bought from the retail store. The 25s also look really good.Very pleased.

I have worn every Asics Kayano shoe since the Kayano 14 or 15. 10 Generations of this shoe and some have been better than others. I can relate these to the Kayano 19 the most. The heel cups and is so comfy. These are back to their former glory with size. There was a season or 2 there around Kayano 23 that the size was changed about half a size and they messed with it. It had me changing my running/walking shoes to Brooks. I hated it. I wear a size 16 and there is no going up half a size so this was a big deal for me. I wear these for every day life walking, running, office wear. They feel so good. The only thing I don't like which I didn't take a star away because i'm not a psychopath and I have no control over is color. I would have liked these in another color besides white at a size 16 but comfort is more important than color. Will buy again. I hope they never change anything about this shoe ever again.

Good fit right out of the box without a break in period. I like the color compared to the other choices. Had a pair of 26’s but they didn’t outrun my chew it all up lab puppy. Couldn’t find a direct replacement, so decided to give the 25’s a go. I don’t feel a significant difference, even though several 26 reviewers seemed to praise the 26 over the 25 model. That was surprising. I am equally pleased with both models. Good quality running and walking shoe. Would have appreciated a lower price for the older model 25. However, highly recommend both models if you find your true size.
