Uninterested in following in his father's footsteps as a construction engineer, he became an artist of his own right, a cobbler. In 1887, at the age of 17, he opened his shop on Broadway and 39th Street, diagonally across from the old Metropolitan Opera House in New York City. Soon, the shop became a meeting place for dancers who would stop by to discuss their needs and to get a pair of his shoes. As Capezio's popularity grew, dancers from around the world made it a point to visit him and purchase his shoes. The innovation of the products that Salvatore Capezio created and the camaraderie he shared with the dancers molded the direction that his company would follow. In this image, the Capezio brand was established to promote and recognize ongoing achievements and participation in dance. I normal wear 8.5 tennis shoes and 8.5EE dress shoes. Order 8.5W US and it is a bit too small. I had to exchange for 9W US and it fits well.There was actually no options for exchanging. I called in and talked to a customer care rep.; he helped put a new order and allowed me to get the discount equivalent to the original promotion (which already expired by the time I wanted to exchange diff size). Customer service is great!
These size 8.5 shoes fit my regualr size 8.5 foot exactly. They are comfortable, easy to dance in and look even better in person than in the photo. My dance instructor thought that I had purchased her $175 recommendation. When I told her I got them for a fraction of the cost on Amazon she couldn't believe it. I'm very happy with the quality, fit, and style.
I have a fairly narrow 'C' foot and low arch. I bought this shoe because the lace design feature would help secure the shoe over my low arch.I was pleased with the width fit but found the length of my normal size 13 M far too Short. I returned them for a 14M and found that length barely long enough but now too wide. My usual solution of full length arch support would not work as they reduced the toe room. I bought half length heel and arch supports which made the fit acceptable.So the three stars are for the full size plus too Short length the show runs.The quality of the shoes is very good and once I have adapted it in my usual manner with inserts it fits and makes a good dance shoe.
Purchased these shoes for my son as a birthday gift. He loves them - perfect fit and attractive too! The suede soles enable him to do smooth spins/turns etc. He is taking lessons and says these shoes are absolutely perfect. Great to find size 14 shoes that really ARE that size!! Delivery time was even quicker than expected!
Nice shoe. I ordered an 8W and box said it was 8W, but fit like a 6 1/2. Shoes did not indicate size, just the box. Not sure if they run small or perhaps shoe in wrong box???
No dance shoes available locally so I had to mail order. Ordered two sizes (what I normally wear in other shoes and one size bigger) and picked my normal size. Returned the larger one (thanks Amazon...) without problems. The shoes itself fits my foot quite well and it is fairly comfortable. The reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is that at about $75 I don't consider them a real bargain. But, overall, I am happy with them.

I use this shoe for salsa and bachata dancing, and it's great! The leather is very good quality. Very soft leather and really comfortable. This shoe also looks really stylish. I'm getting ready to buy my 3rd pair.
