Capezio womens Manhattan Character dance shoes, Black, 7 US

I have tried ordering multiple dance shoes online and they were all painfully narrow for my wider feet. Because these are leather and offer wide sizes, I was able to order my regular shoe size in wide width and they fit perfectly. They are a little snug when you first put them on. But they are more comfortable every time I dance in them. I also love how they look. Very classy and minimal.

Let's just get the specifics out of the way before I gush about this shoe. I wear an 8 in street shoe. I thought these might run a bit small so ordered an 8.5. They fit okay. I could have worn them alright. However, I also felt I could have gone with the half size smaller. Plus, as other reviews mentioned, the strap was extra long it seemed over the top of my foot and I could have used another couple holes in the strap to snug it up. What really made me send them back however, was the bottom of both soles were stained and the shoe had obviously been worn before. There were even wear marks on the straps! So, for the price, I figured this would NOT do. I sent them back and reordered the size 8. That arrived and yes, the shoes were a bit snugger fit (okay because they weren't uncomfortable). The straps had the right amount of holes to fit down against the top of my foot and the straps weren't excessively long. So, if you wear an 8 in street shoes, start with that size. I also have a normal width foot so I didn't bother to get a wide size. The 8 M was perfect! The shoe looks amazing and since I always wear high heels out and about, I loved this heel height for dancing. I took these shoes brand new straight from the box and put them on for a 3 day dance workshop, 4 hrs. of classes every day and dancing all night. Yes, my feet ached a bit but can't really blame the shoe. I came away so thankful for a comfortable shoe and despite being stepped on, etc. there were not even any serious scuff marks! I might also add, I received several compliments on my amazing shoes! So glad I found these...

Perhaps this brand runs narrow. The wide 9.5 was definitely not wide enough - I could get the shoe onto my foot, buit definitely not walk around in them. So, ladies with wide feet, get the next width up. My feet are not super super wide either. Too bad, they look great quality otherwise

Contrary to what I thought when I first put them on, I find these shoes to become more and more comfortable each time I wear them. The heel is low which is great for casual wear. The shoe doesn't have any type of insole or cushioning but is still comfortable to me. Capezio is a brand I trust and these shoes lived up the company's reputation.

I loved the picture of these shoes! Length is fine. I have a US 7.5 foot and width of my foot is 3 7/8 inches. (Sure my foot is a little wide but not super wide. The bottom of this 7.5W shoe is only 3 inches at the widest part! Even if I had the shoes stretched that would be almost an inch of my foot hanging over the bottom of the shoe! Beautiful looking shoes. Super fast delivery. Easy returns. I just want to wear the shoe and can't. (Ugly step sister.) I then ordered and tried 8 1/2 W. Way too long but almost wide enough. But the strap was super long with the holes at the end, as if for a super fat foot! In order to buckle I would need to punch a hole an inch closer! But have to return these as well. I guess I will try the 8 W but worried it will still be way too narrow. I wonder how much a leather shoe can be stretched to accommodate a wider foot.

Perfect for my dance lessons

I spent what I thought was a lot of money to buy a good quality shoe I can wear when performing in musical concerts (including standing in a chorale). The shoe was marked as "wide" but was narrower than I expected.Most disappointing was that the heel was not capped, which would caused me to slip had I worn them as is. I had to pay an additional $29 at my local shoe store to cover my heels properly. Poorly done Capezio!

I've had several pairs of these shoes over the years and believe me they're not just for dancers. If you're looking for comfort and a little dressy style these are a sure thing/ I wear them everywhere. The heels are just high enough to be dressy but still good with a pair of jeans. Because they're dance shoes, the heels are chunky and stable so you can look stylish without worrying about breaking an ankle. The leather lets your feet breathe and after a few wears they shape to your feet perfectly. Great shoes! My only suggestion is to take them to the shoemaker and have a hard rubber lift put on the heel because they're leather and made with the assumption that you'll add taps. If you aren't going to do that, get the rubber ones to protect the heels.
