I’ve owned these sneakers for over a year now and they have held up really well. I’ve put them in the washing machine a few times and let them air dry. It worked out well, no issues. They are a nice basic walking sneaker for me. I use them everyday to walk my dog. They are low profile, light weight and not bulky. The padding inside is just enough, without being too much. I would definitely consider them to be a “no frills” basic running shoe. They were a good price. They are true to size I ordered my normal size 8 I always wear in sneakers. I’ll probably reorder them again in grey soon because they have been good sneakers and are a good price.
For the last few years, since having an issue with my ankle (bursitis/arthritis) I've been a New Balance cheerleader. This pair is one of the least expensive of my purchases so I was a little skeptical. But I love them! They are very lightweight. There is enough arch for me and I have pretty high arches. They look nice with capris and jeans. And the turquoise is a nice little touch of color. It's great to have a white pair that breathe and are not "leather" and look older than my age (57) So far the mesh is just fine. I am not too hard on my shoes except for the ones relegated to yard work (yes, my oldest New Balance as others just end up making my ankle ache at the end of the day).Note: On size; I normally wear an 8 or sometimes a 7.5 in a shoe and am not normally a wide. BUT!! With New Balance I wear an 8.5 Wide. I now have 4 in this size and all are perfect for me. So if you've never worn them before, go up in size by a half and possibly go wide. They are never too wide in the heel or arch area but just give me plenty of comfortable space in the toe box.
I have another pair of New Balance just like these only in a different color. I wanted black for winter so I ordered these and just like my other New Balance, these are the most comfortable I have ever worn. However, I did not pay attention to the comment on the ad about a true fit so order your regular size and ordered 1/2 size larger, 8.5. They fit perfectly. Unless you always wear a true size, in my case an 8, do not hesitate to increase by 1/2 size. In my experience, just about all athletic shoes need to be bumped up 1/2 size to fit correctly. Otherwise, I highly recommend these shoes!
I bought an 11, and normally wear a 10 1/2 in New Balance, which was the correct length for this style. My foot is to the narrow side of medium, due to slight bunions. I have a high instep and use orthotic inserts. These New Balance fit wider in the forefoot and are suitable for those whose foot is on the wider side of medium (not a true wide). I cannot speak to comfort, as I did not wear them out walking, but they seemed comfortable like most other NB athletic shoes I've owned. I sent them back in favor of 490 V6, which ran narrower. Finally-- it took trying 4 pairs of NB and a pair of Asics (also ran wide), before I got the right fit. NB has been all over the map fit-wise as of late. Good thing Amazon has free return shipping!!
Love NB running shoes. This shoes are well made and comfortable, but my memory foam inserts made them extremely comfortable. You have to know NB shoes and your feet (high or low arch, flat feet etc) to know which shoe works for you. You can’t give the product one star because you bought the wrong size or wrong type of shoe, I see this a lot with some NB buyers on Amazon who give bad reviews, but not on the NB website. For instance if you buy trainer’s shoe and use them for running, or walking shoes for trail running, then expect them to be very uncomfortable, but don’t give the shoes a bad rating their not the problem, it’s the buyers problem because he or she failed to read the shoe description and their purpose. If their uncomfortable buy memory foam inserts, most running shoes don’t come with comfort inserts. I’ve been wearing NB for nine years it took a minute for me to adjust and find the right running shoes, I had worn Saucony running shoes for years. With that being said this is a another great shoe adding to my NB collection. Bought another pair, I put memory foam insert in them, fantastic!
I bought these running shoes, three years ago at famous footwear. Since then I have been wearing the same poor worn out pair. I have been looking all over for a replacement. I finally found them on Amazon. The size is exactly the same as the one I have before I would highly recommend if you can find them.
I’m now newly converted from a Nike’s gal. After suffering from severe foot pain from wearing Nike’s regularly, my podiatrist told me they are the worst thing to wear. Wished someone would have told me sooner. I switched too ACIS, Brooks & New Balance Per Doc recommendation. I have absolutely no regrets, just wished I didn’t have to find out the hard way. If anyone out there is like me... suffering from foot pain from wearing the wrong footwear, I advise you switch immediately! Not only they look good they are super comfy & supportive. Size reference I normally wear 6.5 got the 7 & they fit perfect! Hope this helps someone else.
I was looking for a quality sneaker for walking and working out at the gym. This is the second pair I bought because I wanted a pair to wear outside when working around the house. It’s very comfortable; I’ve worn them for a two hour high intensity walk and my feet felt great during and after. They are a comfortable width but I had to go up a 1/2 size from my normal 7 1/2; they were a just a little small, but size 8 is perfect with a regular thickness sock. The price was great for such a comfortable and quality name brand sneaker.
