New Balance Women's Fresh Foam Tempo V1 Running Shoe

I've been a runner for a very long time, and I am partial to New Balance because they fit me the best. That being said, it has become very challenging to find something that lasts or is not made out of cheap material without spending at least $100. This particular pair happened to be on sale, came in my size, and came to $99 instead of costing more, but I could tell as soon as I opened the box that the insole was more substantial than a glorified paper towel. And they felt a lot better when I christened them with sweat the 1st time I wore them. I was not impressed with my former pair - the insole began to start slipping towards my heel once they were more than 2 months old, and ultimately gave me a nasty blister. It seems to depend a lot on whether one intends to use NB shoes for serious exercise, long periods of standing, or just looking fashionable while you only run errands.Over the years I have learned: New Balance do tend to run slightly small, so I order up from my regular shoe size to make plenty of toe room. And I ignore Amazon's recommendation that I get the same size I previously bought in a shoe from another brand that I would never run as often as I do. I study the bottom picture to see if they are more curved for my high arch, and have cushioning rather than support. I like to snug up the laces around my instep more to draw the big Ns on the sides in, and let them be a bit looser where I want it. It has become a marketing buzzword recently to use the word "cushioning" - it is in everything: socks, shoes, etc. It reminds me of the shoulder pad craze back in the 1980's. It gets to a point where it feels more like trying to run on a marshmallow. I also study the tongue situation - I had another pair that were slip-ons and I didn't like them, because I couldn't move the tongue much. And they turned out to be flimsy as well. I like less of a heel drop, so I don't get tipped forward so much. I have realized that I need to spend a bit more at first - I would end up just buying special bandages for blisters, getting new sneakers more often, or who knows what else. I am also not willing to sacrifice my feet, legs, or back for a few dollars.

These shoes are the best tennis shoe I have ever worn. They help with my supination, they support perfectly, my feet don’t feel like they are rolling or sliding around and they have amazing traction. The only downside is they are a tad too short for my right foot (my big foot). My right big toe tends to hurt a bit, but they work so perfectly for my left foot and in every other area that I’ll deal with it. The shoe has stretched out a little which is good, because the toe is a little more comfortable now. I am hoping it stretches more over time, but either way, it is a fantastic shoe. I use it for weight lifting and cardio, which is primarily power waking at this time. I would definitely recommend these shoes for joggers/runners. I feel they will last a long time because they are built so well. Officially a NB fan!

I loved these out of the box. maybe not AS cushioned as my other NB but loved the colors. I bought a 1/2 size up and they were still too small. they don’t have the next size up so i’m gonna try a whole size up hoping they fit. fingers crossed

I really like running shoes! I've owned a few of these myself, I liked them so much that I wanted to buy them again. They have multiple colors so I could now choose a different color, so you have a little different shoes. I really like that they are so light, you have the feeling that you can run very fast. They also fit well on my feet and you can also opt for the wider shoe, so the shoe fits everyone's foot type. I am very happy with the shoe! I give the shoe 5 stars out of 5. Very satisfied!

Not a huge fan of buying running shoes online. However, I’ve owned this pair before so I was already familiar with the feel. Interesting note, I did not realize that I had purchased the wide size before. So, of course the new shoe felt snug. I’ve already put some miles on them and they already they feel as I expected. All that said, pay attention to that W (wide) when purchasing. No complaints. Love my brand new NBs!!

First, this shoe was super comfortable and I love the colors available in wide sizes. I sent them back because compared to other shoes, the cushion was pretty bad when I broke into a jog. For walking around occasionally I’m sure they would be great. I cannot imagine being on your feet all day wearing these shoes, if they are that uncomfortable to wear while running. I definitely noticed some ankle pain that went away when I switched into a different pair that had more cushion.What a shame. They’re so cute!

I love new balance, and I will continue to buy their shoes, but this product is the literal worst. I like the fresh foam because it helps with some preassure on my feet/ankles. I have some old injuries from sports that flare up occassionally and the fresh foam shoes are the best for releiving the pain that sometimes come with them. These shoes actually made the pain worse. I bought the correct size based on what I always buy from new balance and per the reviews this was supposed to fit. Everytime I put them on it felt like there was something pinching the back of my heel. After walking around the house a little I decided it was not too bad so kept the shoes. Mistake #1. Once I started walking outside with my dog in the park, on roads, etc. I found the shoe pinching and cutting into the back of my foot. I was hoping that I just needed to break them in and that I did not waste my money on a 60$ pair of shoes. So I took them on vacation to my inlaws, hoping they would become more confortable on the trip. Mistake 2. I ended up with such bad blisters after the first family dog walk that I drove to the local sports store, dropped 120$ on a new pair of shoes, and threw these shoes in the trash. I have never had this experience with New Balance shoes and hope to never have it again, otherwise I will need to rethink my brand loyalty.
