Bought the Trail Runners 2 weeks ago. I have flat feet and one foot is a little larger than the other. I have a hard time finding comfortable shoes. I wear size 13 and I ordered the 13M. The length is perfect. My heals slip a little but I don’t see that as a problem. I don’t even notice it any more. My toes have plenty of room to move. The first day I wore them I removed the insole and the underside was wet to the touch as well as the inside bottom of the sole. I replaced the factory insole with a Dr Scholls insole. So far there is no wetness. I’m planning on using these shoes for my 500 mile Camino walk. I’m sure at the end of a days hike my feet will be hot and damp. I did part of the Camino 2 years ago (same shoe but an earlier version) and my size 12 was a little to small but I managed. No blisters or any other problems.I’ve heard others say the sides of the shoe is to high and hits the ankle. The shoe is a little higher but it has not caused a problem for me. In fact I like the higher sides. Better support. The shoe is a little hot but that is a good thing when the temperature is cooler. The Dr Scholls insole seems to have helped with the heat. I don’t notice it now as I did with the factory insole. The soles are a knoby verses the soles on my previous pair. See photo. Good grip.I really like the shoe lace. I’ve never seen this kind before. It’s a very thin one piece nylon lace. No tying. Just pull them up tight and adjust the gripper down. Very nice. I don’t know what you’d do if they broke.Another comment was that they squeak when you walk. They did squeak when they first came out of the box but no more squeaking once you’ve used them.I have not used them in wet conditions but I have faith they will keep my feet dry. I can’t wait to get on the Camino. The trail runners feel and fit great.
Comfortable, good for running, GoreTex keeps water out. This is my second pair.
We live outdoors! We spend time daily outdoors working, playing, doing business. These shoes see us through four real seasons, rain, shine, mud, rocks, grassy fields, gravel paths. A typical day could be walking to the campgrounds of our park, hiking the trails , or just going to town. We really appreciate the comfort and durableness. The Gore-Tex is a necessity and most waterproof shoes are too stiff while these are perfect. We have been through 3 pairs each over the years. I hope we can continue to acquire more pairs in the future. If you are a prepper or just like to be ready for anything, these shoes are for you.
So far I could not be more happy with this shoe. It seems a step up from even the normal high-quality Salomon GTX shoes. Flexible like a trail running shoe but sturdy like a hiking boot.
I run on logging trails on weekdays for 3-5 miles at a time in the Pacific Northwest year round. While I run rain or shine, I find it most unpleasant when my feet get wet at the beginning of my run from water on grass and bushes. I recently wore a competitor brand of running WP shoes out (vertical cracks along sides of shoe where foot bends while running). I wanted to try this top brand due to reviews and the recommendation of a friend. they feel fine on the trail. I did feel some moisture at the top of my foot under the laces when running through some very wet grass. Otherwise, my feed were not unduly wet.My foot seems to like sliding forward in the shoe. I am not sure if this is due to the laces (plastic wire laces that use a lock to keep the shoe tight). When I set the laces very tight to avoid this, they loosen. My large toes hit the front of the shoe when running after it gets looser. This is a little disappointing for a shoe in the $150 range when newly released. For reference, I prefer to run in Asics and a size 14 Asics shoe fits me perfectly. I use these when the ground is dry.
The quality of these shoes are outstanding along with the Comfort. I wear a size 13 but they accidentally sent me 12 and 1/2 which is no big deal because it still fits great. I highly recommend these as you can really put these things through their paces.
Very good grip in rainy/slippery weather. Comfortable. Breathable. Light.
Fit was true to size for my 8.5 the comfort is wonderful for all day wear. Gortex keeps my feet dry on the trail. And the support means an all day hike doesn't leave my feet bruised the next day.But after 4 months of daily use at work and on the trail (I drive for a living so only a 8000 step average and a day hike every other week) the sole is worn smooth so at the price point I'm not sure I see a value.
